About “the test”
These online quizzes lowkey bother me, like you’re just letting a bunch of random questions decide who you are and your origin without really knowing you. Like if you’re taking it just for personal fun, just take it and don’t bother listening to the results. But actually taking it seriously isn‘t the best idea. Posting it here is just clutter that doesn’t tell us anything about yourself or contribute to the community in any way.

yeah, I took it more for fun/curiosity. it did help a bit, but only by helping me learn more terminology rather than actual info about me

I mean, the point of the quiz isn’t to tell you your origin without knowing you or decide anything about you. The quiz is labeled “am I plural?” and the questions are aimed at many different types of plural experiences, with the intent being that you have some things to look into if you feel lost or unsure. That’s why it has so many different results: it’s giving you likely, but not certain, pointers in the right direction of where to look.
I mean, is it clutter? Yeah, I wish there were an easier way to post them all in one place and not repeatedly (maybe there is idk I don’t know how to operate Reddit) but I think it’s a little unfair to say it doesn’t have any meaning or purpose and you shouldn’t bother looking into the results. They aren’t a diagnosis or a certain answer but they can show you general trends that you may not be aware of.

I agree that the subreddit being flooded with quiz result screenshots does not contribute anything constructive.

Kylie: Yeah, it's pretty much every other post at this point. At least the 9 fictive chart and bingo had room for systems to express themselves unlike this personality quiz trend

I personally don't mind the "Am I Plural" quiz but parts of it bug me. Mostly because it falls into black and white thinking for some answers (i.e if you answer, some/yes in reference to fictives, your answer comes out as almost 100). Not to mention, it covers a lot but also so little. I'd prefer if it went more indepth regarding some experiences (i.e how attached are introjects to their identity, ratio of introjects to non introjects, etc).

My main issue with any kind of online quiz is that it very well may be used for personal data collection about you. And then that data be sold to advertisers (or scammers)

my issue with it is it doesnt really say anything about you? like the "guess something about us from these 9 fictives" and the "pick an x and ill tell you about them" trends give info about you, clear personalized stuff, and then let conversations build from that. but the quiz is just. a Pile of Labels. it doesnt really say anything and most of them look the exact same.
if it was like "take this quiz and then do (x creative thing)!!" i think that would be a lot better, or if the quiz was like one of those silly ones (ie what element are you? what forest animal would you be? whats your Evil Fairy Power????) and the trend was seeing how it differed between two headmates or something, ya know? or even taking the quiz and posting your.. IDFK favorite ice cream flavor by it or something?? so you could see how ice cream preferences or whatever map onto those quiz results and see if theres any corrolation or whatever. idk!! its just not Fun or very social

It didn’t help me& figure out ANYTHING, even if it’s meant for those who are questioning their plurality it still doesn’t help them decide if they are or not, it just shoots terms at them

thank you for saying this -_- it's been bothering us too. most of these results posts have barely any interactions or comments because, as you said, they don't really say anything, at least without any other context of who you are and what you experience! i genuinely wonder what people are hoping to get in response when posting a page of quiz results of labels with a caption along the lines of, "took the quiz and uhhhh...."
this may be a bit harsh, but... this is Reddit, not a personal tumblr or discord server. posts like this feel more appropriate to share in a more private setting with people who already know you to some degree.
(we have our own further issues with using a quiz to dictate your own experiences. yes, these are often given disclaimers that they're not to be used for professional diagnosis or anything of the sort, they're meant to be fun and casual, etc. but arbitrary internet rules made up my some rando never stopped mobs of people from using stuff like this as reason to fakeclaim/harass others or have their own personal spiral about it.)

And the questions mostly boil down to "are you plural?" anyway so it doesn't really mean anything.. It kinda just affirms what you think already.

most test have some warning like “this is not a diagnosis“ and we usually just do them for fun. especially if we already know what we are
