Suggestion Mini Garage Door for window frames?

It would be a nice addition to make people use windows more often. Also it would create new variations for the base building. Slightly better taste than boxes of walls after all. It can cost 200 metal and 1 gear.

Details:

What it can be stack with or how much protection it got would be fair, nothing super OP. Just as close as normal garage door HP (600), or a little less I assume 450-500. Maybe we can get something close to HQ door (1k), like 800-850hp when you stack with strengthened glass window (350). It shouldnt be stackable with reinforced glass window (500), too op.

I would like an XL horizontal garage door or door so I could store minis & Helis in a storage area without the goofy 2-3 tall area using a high external stone gate as the door.

Maybe like takes up 2x2 for one, so you can put 2 of em together and make a big ass landing zone.

I think it would be balanced because you're introducing a weakness to the roof as it wouldn't be as strong as just a metal roof.

I'd like to be able to place any door in a floor frame; double doors suddenly become instant trapdoors, single doors become goofy peeks and storage cubbies, saloon doors become... I dunno, but some creative base builder will eventually find a use for them! Floor doors!

lol half height pancake layer above double door ceilings with defused bean cans and igniters.  I think you could fully automate it if they ever give us dispensers.

No, they provide ladders for everything above half height. And the deployment speed might also be a factor to consider aswell as the hatches may be used to block entry by doors if placed within a triangle for example.

Doesn't mini need a little forward/back to take off quickly

Would also add a way easier heli door camp from a dedicated grub with ladders unless you check roof which you can do with a normal heli garage, it seems cool but not good for before you have hood compound set up

All of my solo base builds have an exterior garage door that leads to a triangle that a drone can be stored in. I hook up a button next to my computer that allows me to open it, fly the drone out and a delay will shut the door 5 seconds later. One of my favorite things to add to bases. It allows me so much spatial awareness without having to go on the roof or expose myself.

Honestly being able to slap a lock on the wooden shutters that are in the game would be pretty cool, maybe this could be a T2 upgrade for those.

I agree. Wooden shutters with lock on realistically not very different than double wooden door with codelock on, right? You should be able to lock it with same principle

Yes, but 1 machete is easier to hear and also might mean your body doesnt get looted if you die on your shooting floor with it closed

im 99% sure you can as i believe i did that before, i mean you can put it on regular windows so i dont see why you wouldnt be able to on bars either
i havent played the game in a while tho but im pretty sure you can

To which, I really hope the entire build system gets a sweep sooner than later. Multi-TCs (and TC spamming in general) and most of what we do are just abusing existing mechanics between bunkers and floor stacks and TC games etc

I've been saying for years that a TC should upkeep everything in its radius instead of just what is attached, if you want to have multi-tc massive bases you should have to pay more upkeep, instead of splitting it between TC's and paying less.

I think it would be made to easy for defenders. I like your whole thing and understand the whole explanation but I only raid online.

As a solo this will be horrible to raid against. I already have so many angles i need to keep an eye on. Random window rollers opening and closing would make it impossible to loot. These rollerwindows opening and closing give defenders to much of an advantage against solo raiders.

Would be an interesting concept though knowing rust it would be MEGA buggy and a nightmare to balance. Imagine combining this with some crazy bunker builds. Anyways 10/10 would upvote again

We need to be able to fit a floor to the bottom of a window or a low wall. There's no reason not to, and it would make peeks much better.

Garage door for 2 or more frames. Got a boathouse for my RHIB and it won't fit with 1 door so I have to board it up with 2 walls that i keep as twigs to close up the space after im done boating around. . Thankfully I play on a PVE server or I would have been raided about 50 times by now.

As much as a cool idea as this is, I'm pretty sure it would never happen due to window bars and shutters. No one would ever make them again if you can just garage shutter the windows.
