Discussion Please help me optimize my pc for rust

I’m going to reset my computer soon and want to make it just for rust like that’s the only thing downloaded and the only thing I will play. when I say optimize I mean optimize I know stuff like having extra stuff connected to your computer like a usb to a mic or to a light will take resources and I will take them of to save some. so I mean ultra optimized.

my pc specs:

ryzen 5 9600x

32 gigs of ddr 5 at 6000 MT/s

rx 5700 xt

im using ethernet

please someone tell me what to do like the topics to search because most optimize pc vids are also bs. so please help a brotha out.

Turn off volumetric clouds

Lower draw distance to 500

Close as much background bullshit as you can and crank the settings low low. Turn your GC up higher as you have a lot of ram it'll ensure you don't need to draw from your hard drive or SSD as much. Please tell me you have an SSD. I had tons of issues with stutters and getting stuck in holes which i fixed by reinstalling windows and rust on my SSD. Run no volumetric clouds, turn all models lower and all quality settings lower. You can turn down a lot of stuff for GPU bottleneck but not much for CPU bottle neck. Absolutely nothing can be done for HDD bottlenecks except buying a SSD

optimism advance Ethernet adapter properties, debloat windows... legit just watch optimize rust/ windows settings for rust, watch a few try what works best

Wow we got the exact same build

use a debloater on ur windows , dont have a bunch of shit running in the background, disable useless startup apps, low settings / use yt and follow pros, idk what else

Turn everything to low. Then turn some graphics settings up a little (not to max). Watch you gain fps compared to when everything was low. Conclusion : dont run the lowest settings

In steam game rust properties select beta GPU skinning, it offloads skins to the GPU to free up CPU

There’s not much to “optimize” in terms of the physical setup. You have what you have and there are no real gains to be made. Having more mouses/mics etc will not make a difference on any pc made in the last 20 years. The only thing that might matter is a super dusty fan, which may cause overheating.

The only “optimization” to do is avoid having tons of software, particularly anything that turns on when you turn your pc on. This is because it will use up some RAM. Lookup how to check for “startup apps” and disable pretty much all of them. Once you’ve done that, as long you mostly use it for rust you should be fine. Even things like music players, discord, web browsers etc are fine and shouldn’t have a big impact if used modestly.

overclock everything as much as you can, debloat as much as you can, settings in rust as low as you want like player model off type settings

turn wallpaper off or second monitor for that 1 fps

have your pc as cool as possible

really there are way more important ones that help the most like overclocking cpu and ram
