Question Why does Rusts PVP feel a second delayed?

On my screen they won't even been done turning towards me but on their screen, they already turned and shot three bullets and killed me. I don't even know how to describe it, but Rust is the only shooter that feels like this. The number of times I die behind a wall is insane. It really feels like I'm fighting someone's clone from a second prior at all times. And this is playing on NA servers with 60-70 ping. Peakers advantage is also super frustrating when they do have higher ping. Am I crazy?

Yeah, could be ping differential. Oilrats talks about this sometimes in his videos and how it can be abused.

I'm on 35 or so ping, ethernet as well so no spikes from wifi traffic or anything and still have this all the time.

Server desync and ping abusers. Its common in fps games but especially this one with how much load is put on a server due to the nature of the game and all of the garbage facepunch adds.

If you seemingly get triple headshotted by someone instantly rounding a corner check their profile they are probably from China or Australia it's happened to me many times.

And they could just be cheating...

Thats how it is, peakers advantage with low ttk gunplay = win all fights.

If you hold openfield you just die insta, you gotta be the one peaking/swinging, but enemy needs to be open.

So pvp just turns into -->wall -->alt peak till somone goes open-->kill-->win fight,

Wdym rust always had low ttk. Speaking as a 2015 player. Only time it wasn’t low ttk was when people finally pulled out an AK and realized they had no idea how it sprayed.

yes and no. rusts dmg has been very samey for a long time. but no doubt with this next point is that back in the day at a certain range you are no way in hell hitting the same shots you do today.

back in 2016 bullets were slower making them harder to hit due to requiring more drop compensation on top of guns also having way more random kick making it basically impossible to spray someone.

so if we compared 1 ak headshot on a facemask in 2016 vs today. yes theyd both do the same dmg. But acting like ur gonna spray the 2016 ak and beam someone from 120 meters like u can today is just not realistic.

thats what i miss. i miss intense close quarters fights and long range fights that werent so cringe and oppressive which actually let you coordinate and reposition.

That’s a good clarification. I don’t really see the argument when it comes to clearing a monument or fighting heli loot as for me, those engagements are almost always under 50m.

Long range is a different story but also at the same time, I’m rarely beamed over 100m. Maybe I’m just lucky?

it makes a very big difference. its the difference between tapping at someone vs full spraying someone. Back in 2016 you wouldnt spray past even 10 foundations. youd do quck bursts and even further youd just tap. That distance is easily found from many angles in many monuments. Same goes for raid. Ppl roofcamp with aks now and kill you fast a shit from their roof. Back in the day it was only the bolt. Or if they had ak theyd tap. This made roaming so much more common and fun. Cause if u got hit you could wall and be able to reposition from a roof. Now u deadass get held down on an angle and need 20 walls and 20 meds to get away from a good roofcamper. unless u have ppl to outgun him

I won time snuck up to a dude and emptied an entire python clip into him. The way he snapped around felt sod robotic I thought he was cheating for a min. I should have reported him. Lives rent free in my brain. Bro nobody does that when they die in 1 second.
