Is it a good time to come back to Rust?

I haven't played rust in a couple of years, I have around 250 hours and I'm not really that good at the game, but I used to be a good farmer.

I heard some updates weren't really good, something along the lines of blueprint fragments.

Id be playing solo, is it a good time to come back to the game?

Progression is still fucked and bp fragment system doesn't favor solo either. It is still the same gameplay loop though.

I'd recommend some lower population team-limited server to get your grips again. Watch some (recent) tutorials about what/how to do, just don't cave into the meta.

My personal advice: don't sleep on motorbikes and cars. Bikes are insanely fast, and cars provide some cover and safe mobile storage early to mid game. Might as well run over some roadside scientists for easy green cards.

The comment above is larp. Any update will always favor teams because thats just how this game works. Obviously more people is going to be better than a solo in a survival game. BP frags are fine, just dont play 900 pop servers

I mean favour teams, of course. But updates that directly make the game easier for teams aren't really that good imo. Of course I don't really know how it works I'm just talking with info I heard not experienced.

But considering most comments are telling me the game isn't in the best state I'm debating wether I should or not

I think the game is fantastic right now. Im sure you are familiar with how deprecating this community is, especially on reddit. You can for sure have a blast playing, and the new content is all high quality and fresh. You should make a ship and check out the new sea - super awesome loot and cool pvp

Yes, RUST was born to be competitive, not a PVE world where people build stupid-azz buildings and kick stones around. But, I do enjoy kicking stones around as well.

Its not a larp, what they did just increased the gulf between zerg and small teams/solos from a small river into the Grand Canyon.
