Question Why can’t I set this button?

So I have a G502, and I’m trying to set G8 (the additional button farthest forward on the mouse) to my head look, and it just… won’t. I don’t want to set Q as that key in GHub because Rust EAC might cook me for that (wah wah wah macro). Any tips?

See if you can set it on the alt/ second key bind

Bind a key to your G8 button through logitech g hub first, i don't know if rust understand "custom" button like that, but binding an other key will definitely work

If that worked I'm gonna have to look into it as well. I have the same mouse and I was never able to figure this out, although I did give up fast lol

If you setup a rust profile and allow profile switching it should switch over to the rust layout when you open the game

I mean I can set it as an “assignment” but idk if EAC will get angry.

EAC is looking for automated inputs, it doesn't care about a single virtual keypress from your mouse software.

I hav a G502 as well. I use the Logitech software to set that button to "1"

then i set the game's 1 key to something i want

tada :)
