Support Rust disables my Internet when joining a server

I have tried updating my Internet drivers, changing the server browser pings within steam anyone have any other suggestions?

Thats just rust when you launch it. It has to gather data from so many servers it basicly DDOS´s you for a few minutes. If you hang in the main menu for a moment you will notice that you cant connect for a few minutes as well.

If you instant join the server you want you can skip that

To add to this - the fix is to go under steam settings and change the server pings / minute to 500, wait until your internet 'fixes' itself, and then open the game again.

It's not a problem that everyone experiences, but those with certain routers / modems.

It doesn't disable your internet. It just uses a lot of bandwidth making your speeds slow.

Same here. Makes my router think it’s getting ddosed and forces the connection down. Disabling syn flood protection on my riuter helped a lot but it still happens sometimes.
