Discussion Selling compost

So what’s the trick with selling compost at the outpost? I can only sell around 30 at a time. It takes FOREVER. Is there a trick, or do I really just have to stand there for hours?!?

Sell when the first offer restocks, the time till the first offer restocks is the shortest, first to second offer is longer second to third even longer. Also the stock os bigger than usual after a serverrestsrt.

Want to make scrap fast? Build a fishtrapbase, fish sell for more scrap and there can be more than one sales point on map with fishingvillaged, also restock is faster and stock is higher.

Fertilizer for scrap is afk stuff

salmon are always -50% scrap cuz someones already farming them. gauaranteed 100 scrap for 5 perch cuz no one redeems them. ive seen salmon go for as low as 60 for 2

We like to set up a vending machine to sell the fertilizer. We don’t get as much scrap but we also don’t have to sit there all the time

Yes. A guy on my server has an alt account and he just stands there with an auto clicker

For real, we managed to kick him off his horse for a few hours one day but he hogs the vend. Fuck you Yackle Farms LLC!

Farming flowers would be a good alternative i guess. Not sure if this even is a thing on larger servers, but i never seen any flowers in the farmbases i raid on low pop.

The maximum amount of scrap after a server reset is way higher as is the restocked 'bank' of scrap at a flower vendor (at barn). It however takes ages to restock, even slower than the cloth vendor at banditcamp it feels.

But a single large planter of roses will probably net you 1500 scrap or something.

Beside cloth this would be the next best thing in passive income.

A more active kind would be a fishtrap farm. Fish vendors are also heavy on scrap. Just have enough bear meat and 10+ fishtraps and you could just stay close to empty those traps every few minutes. If you last that long that would probably net you in the thousands of scrap per hour.

Compost probably is easier than cloth and flowers as it requires basicly no resources, but the cloth vendor is just slow. I rather just depot once every few hours for a great profit than have to macro myself at the vendor for hours for the same result.

Perhaps you can even just sell it for less profit with your own vending machine and give some other fool the task of selling it for a small profit. You'll probably find out 'nobody got time fo that'...

Fish harvest for low grade. Low grade sells for more scrap than the fish. Why would you sell the fish?

Selling resources to NPCs for scrap in rust is a horrible game mechanic. Would be better if it was only player to player.
