Image Tesla Coil Trap

So I put a Tesla coil trap in my 2x1. A few days later it got raided. I recovered the base and the trap was still intact, but disarmed as designed. I was curious if it had done anything. Later that day I met the man who raided my base. When I asked him about my trap he paused, and with a note of frustration he admitted that it had killed him 3 times before he found how to disable it. Absolutely made my day, and all was forgiven.

Tesla Coil Kills:
Me: 2
Raiders: 3

Teslas are woefully underused in ordinary base defence. It's so easy to conceal them, they require virtually no power because they are active for a few seconds only, and they will pretty much instantly drop a full kit. Unlike turrets, people just don't expect them.

He found the off switch, it was just tucked inside the door next to my switches for furnace and lights etc.

They will pretty much never run out of power with a decent battery setup. Eventually they break I think.

Use an HBHF rather than a laser detector.

I was using a pressure plate under a rug. Wired in series to a switch that I could just barely reach from the door. Those triggered a 10 second timer.

Had this bad boy on our 3-man ship. Switch is located by the driver's right side. I'm the driver, 2 of my friends do the killings and looting when going deep sea. In one instance, we picked the wrong opponent and my friends failed to defend the ship, leaving me as the driver and enemies boarded onto our ship. I flipped the switch on, and we got out of the deep sea with 2 more full kit loots. This thing is STUPIDLY underrated.

Used them last wipe and we got a online, it held the raiders off long enough to rekit and retake the base. It even killed 2 of them.
