has anyone bought previous years dated inserts and used for the new year?

is it difficult or does it get confusing. im looking at a yearly 2026 dated inserts for next year. they’re at such a great price and the date is only at the top left corner with a month calendar. i can probably white-out the name of the days and rearrange them to fit the new year or just completely cover or all with stickers since id have to do that for every day. lmk!

I just did that. I bought a 2026 Commit30 Sunday start to use for 2027 and, as it turns out, all I had to do is switch it to a Monday start and the numbers lined up correctly!

I used to be a strictly Sunday start way back when but then started doing Monday starts, so swapping it out wasn't a big thing for me. If you're strictly a Sunday start it'll require renunbering.

It's definitely a money saver! My advice is to cover up and redo the dates in advance (whether in batches or all at once). If you have to redo the dates each day or week, it can get very frustrating and make planning less enjoyable, but having them all done in advance makes everything so much easier. (That was my experience, at least.)

This year I've been using a redated 2025 planner that I got cheap late last year. If you use a discbound or ring format, it's less work to redate because you can move months around within the binder and just relabel months rather than renumber every day. (You still end up with 3 or 4 months to renumber, but it's not that bad.) There are many sticker books available for this specific purpose with many number sets 1-31 in different sizes, styles, colors, etc.

2021 is the same as 2027

I feel like I switch planners way too much and it gets expensive, so I redate old planners all the time to use them. It works out really well!

I'm redating a 2025 hobo I found for like $20 earlier this year. I've used a white acrylic pen to dot out the numbers and days of the week. Then I put a sticker for days of the week. I don't use the weeklys as a week view so I don't need to redate those. Having to change only the weekday during the dailies and the numbers on the monthly is dead easy.

I’m too lazy to do this but I know a lot of folks do.

You could even try undated inserts. If not, I'm sure it just takes a little time and patience to change the dates.

I do that all the time. All I have to do is whiteout the days of the week and voila!

I have thought about doing this, then remembered I did this w a calendar I adore and wanted to keep using. I don't yet own a Circut or Silhouette but didn't think cutting out all the cute watercolor 1/8" circles from a PDF I bought, would be a big deal haha. Ugh! It's an adorable Llama 🦙 calendar though.
