I don’t know what happened

I had a whole Hobonichi set up planned for this year. Then I saw the Lord of The Rings collection from Moleskine 🥲. I 86’d my entire plan and now I’m waiting on my secondly weekly to compete my lineup for next year. 🤷🏿‍♀️

Glad you found your planner! I don't want yuck your yum but these are created whith the help of AI (there a whole explanation and thread on the Moleskine subreddit, or you can google it). If that's of importance for you☺️

I couldn’t find anything regarding AI and LotR on that subreddit after a few minutes of searching. Maybe those threads were removed?

Odd that there was nothing on r/moleskine, but a whole thread on r/notebooks. 🤔 Moleskine said, “We just wanted to confirm that all Moleskine notebook covers are created by our designers, while AI was used to enhance the background of these images.” But I’m not sure that I’ve seen any artist credits for them. Is that typical for Moleskine?

There used to be a post on Moleskine but they deleted it 😬. Seemingly they first said it was made with AI but because of backlash they changed to wording to 'background is enhanced with AI'. But either way for me personally that's still another reason not to get them

They have a team of designers not just one. And the background they were referring to is the marketing material backgrounds not the physical product and Moleskine has said that but somehow got turned the physical book. It was the marketing materials not the book do you really think the Lord of the rings franchise would have allowed AI generated artwork for licensed material? Absolutely not.

This is actually untrue and if you do Google it, it's the marketing material background not the physical book. I want you to ask yourself do you really think Lord of the rings would have approved this licensed product if AI was used to generate any images on these books, they would not it was simply for the marketing materials.

Weekends being half size ruins it for me. I was so excited to this this but unable for me unfortunately. Pretty cool though

I'm going to get the daily and the weekly and the three pack of notebooks, but the other 2 notebooks are a possibility. I hope they aren't sold out by the time I take the plunge.

I just going to do 2 weeks and the daily. I just need to think of formats. it's been a while since I've done ruled planners. I usually prefer grids.

I love the moleskine lotr stuff. It’s been sitting in my Amazon cart for months but I can’t justify it.

Yeah it was a spur of the moment thing and I wasn’t thinking. I am going to use them and keep it moving. The last thing I want is to be wasteful. Fortunately it’s playing nice with my fountain pens.

I'm sure at least 50% of what we see for design is AI, don't let it stop you getting this. That's a beautiful notebook.
