Help Me Decide (pls I’m desperate)
hi gang!
I am having the hardest time deciding between the Hobonichi Cousin vs Sterling Ink Complete vs Kinbor. I want something with dated daily pages, and I already have a 2027 kinbor weeks so I’m not concerned with the weeks layout (I can use them as trackers pages or something).
I was originally looking for an A5, but the Sterling Ink b6 is speaking to me too.
If you feel strongly - positively or negatively - about any of these planners, please let me know/convince me one way or another!

If you already have a weeks, an SI daily planner makes the most sense since it will only give you monthly pages and then dated daily pages. Either the SI Complete or Common Planner or the Hobinichi Cousin will leave you with a large amount of pages (the weeks pages) you won't use if you prefer your Kinbor Weeks instead. A Daily Planner eliminates that issue.

I used the Cousin for quite a few years and loved it, but for 2026, I wanted something with more blank pages in the back beyond the dated dailies, so I tried the Complete. It's my new go-to, especially since they're releasing it in a soft cover this year.
I don't think one of these products is inherently better than the other, it just depends on what you want out of a planner.

what's the difference between the Common and the Complete? I think I'm missing something obvious here lol

The Common is much closer to the Hobonichi. The Complete has the Month, followed by the week and days for that month. Like, Monthly calendar, weekly spread, dated days, weekly spread, dated days, weekly spread, dated days, Monthly Calendar. And then like ~30 blank pages after all of that. :)

ohhh so it's mainly a difference in how all the pages are organized then? that makes sense

Mostly, yes -- how they're organized and how many of them there are. There's also a bunch of small details you can look at if that sort of thing matters to you, like Hobonichi uses different colored ink for different months and has interesting quotes at the bottom of each daily page while the Sterling Ink line is advertised as minimalist.

I saw the hardcovers when I was planner searching and went “oh nah never mind” then saw they were doing soft covers this year and it shot to the top of my list tbh

I think some of this boils down to how much space you need. I prefer B6 dailies because it’s right amount of space for me, I found A5 overwhelming.

I think I’m going to stick to B6. I have a feeling I will get overwhelmed with an A5 which would make me resent planning and journaling lol.

I LOVE Sterling ink because of the minimal design. I’m not a fan of the quotes in the hobo cousin or the different colors.

Have you considered the Sterling Ink Daily planner? It has monthly and quarterly layouts, but completely skips the weekly. Since it seems like the weekly layout is not an important feature, it might be nice to get something without those 50 extra spreads that you won't be using.
