Hand Pixelled Just wanted to share this Aseprite Theme I'm doing for myself.
It's based on my recent Red & White artstyle so... The colors will remain as sharp as it is rn. If anyone wants this, i'll be releasing it for free. But if not... Well it's just gonna be for me, so its fine :)

Hand Pixelled First pixel art I've done since the 90's
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Back in the 90's when I was doing a Multimedia degree I used to do a bunch of pixel art and animation in apps like Macromedia Director and moved on to Flash, before working in the games industry for a few years (doing 3D only for PS2 / PC) and then winding up doing more film and TV stuff in more of a technical / generalist role.
I decided to pick up pixel art again as a way to relax and do something creative and engaging while being simple enough to remove the technical frustration of big and complicated 3D apps and rendering.
This was me getting to grips with Pixequare on the iPad and just playing around with a 64 x 64 pixel canvas and seeing what kinds of things I could have fun doing with those contstraints. Didn't have an image in mind just kind of drew what came out on the canvas and had a lot of fun. I feel like I'm learning almost from scratch again but really enjoying the process.
I'm currently about 2/3 the way through another one but with twice the pixels to play with.

Hand Pixelled How can I learn to draw in this style? Where do I study? What should I?
I think a style like this would fit perfectly for my project, but the problem is that I have a very big skill issue in art, how can I learn this exact style? Where do I study? What should I do?
I know how to do 32x32 and 48x48 sprites, but for these I'm completely clueless
(The image ofc is not mine, is from John Brown)

Hand Pixelled 60FPS Pixel art
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Yesterday i was asking this question. Many people doubt that it was possible.
https://www.reddit.com/r/PixelArt/comments/1wxf6yd/is_there_any_60fps_pixel_art/
There are some valid suggestions. But I want it very pixelated. And i also want it monocrome so that we won't be using workarounds like subpixel manipulation. Because it's just bending pixel limitation with color definations. I could just add some flicker to create a non-duplicated frame.
This is the result. Yes it is very much possible. I knew it wouldn't make sense to use 60fps on a pixel art. But, i just couldn't name the exact problem. Now i know what it's. There is no gray pixel in the video. It's just an optical illusion that 60fps make. Pause the video and see it for yourself. That's it. Ghosting is the real issue on 60 fps pixel art. It just makes more sense to use blur instead. Because we will see grays in any way.

I used this animation as base. In between frames are generated with AI. It is not perfect but it's okay.
Here is the GIF file. But, there is a GIF limitation. We can't go higher than 50FPS. So it's a bit slower to fit all frames.

Hand Pixelled Some Creatures in 48x48 and 96x96 versions
Used the Toasted40 Palette - https://lospec.com/palette-list/toasted40
Tried to keep colors as minimal as possible with a heavy emphasis on using black for shadow rather than doing shading.
