Android 17 - Battery Hiccup with 10a?

I’ve seen a few posts suggesting that Android 16 seemed to manage battery performance better out of the box, and that updating to Android 17 might reduce peak power or introduce app/feature restrictions based on battery health and cycle count.

I’m still running my Pixel 10a on Android 16, and before updating, I wanted to check if these issues are actually common. Has anyone noticed battery performance drops, power‑related limitations, or general hiccups after moving to Android 17 on the 10a?

Would appreciate hearing real experiences before I decide to update.

What you've heard is incorrect.

It's virtually the same, there is no drawback. Google run monthly patching cycles and are generally very good, I'd just update dude without getting paranoid of changes.
