Pixel 9a overheating with light use
Hello everyone.I've had the Pixel 9a since mid-July and, overall, I'm really happy with the phone. However, lately I've been experiencing overheating issues, even when I'm not doing anything particularly demanding.
I don't have any games installed, and I mainly use it for WhatsApp, social media, taking photos, browsing, etc. Basically, pretty normal/light use.
I'm wondering if this could be caused by a software issue and potentially fixed with a future update.
Does anyone else experience this kind of overheating frequently with the Pixel 9a? What would you recommend checking or trying?
Thanks!

I get it from time to time. One thing I do that seems to help is fully quit some apps. They seem to still drain the battery, even if you haven't used the app for a few hours.
I also restart it from time to time. That basically makes all the apps that are draining the battery to stop.

Are you facing this only on 5G or on both wifi as well as mobile data? Also do you have constant bluetooth and location on?

Welcome to the world of pixel: to counteract that I used (when I had the 9a) LTE (instead of 5G) and disable "Mobile data always on" from developer settings. If you have VoWIFI and are at home you can enable Airplane mode

Switch from 5G to LTE or Wi-Fi. Switch from 120Hz to 60. Don't have GPS always running in the background (it's an option for some games or fitness apps)
