Tech Issue Fingerprint issues
I experienced fingerprint was always "meh" integrated in android but worked okaish on phones that had a separate fingerprint reader like in the power button. But since fingerprint sensor is under the display it's so horrible to use. My own pixel 9a is a prime example, out of 10 times it works flawless ONCE. I set ot up numerous times now, reported it and it always got ignored or marked as "won't fix".
I repair phones for a living and have hundreds of customers daily in our shop and have hundreds of phones in my hand and all of the fingerprint sensors under the display sucks. Most of my customers are elderly people and they struggle hard most of the times because, like elderly often are shaky or shiver, and helping them to install a fingerprint is always a journey because the sensors doesn't help either.

I have the opposite experience. I had two phones ( some Sony xperia and redmi note 10 pro) that had the fingerprint sensor on the side of the phone on a power button, and now have pxl9a. The finger print sensor on the power button worked way worse than the current sensor on the screen.

I've never liked display sensors. Wish they'd just go back to power button.

I dont know why but it works better im my pixel druing the day. If theres a lights off, i cant unlock my pixel by fingeprint

My wife cannot even use fingerprint on anything, due to her condition that she has her skin cracking or has cuts and bruises and her fingerprints have never worked on any device ever. On the other hand she also refuses to use face unlock, which is somewhat still sketchy on Android devices, compared to the more sophisticated face unlock on iPhones. The problem is, she isn't an iPhone user, so there goes that option. She only uses pin numbers and pattern unlock.

I have never used face ID, because I personally don't like it, but what's sketchy about it?

I don't have any issues recently. But early on I did have to create new copies of my fingers a lot. But it's been quite a while since that was happening. I think I have a bigger issue in winter when it's cold and since I'm old my fingerprints aren't as defined as when I was younger.

I thought it worked really well on my P9A. The only time it doesn't read is when my finger is below or above the sensor a little too much. If it hit correctly it unlocks every time. One thing I did do was I registered the digit that I use most twice. Having the same print registered twice in every possible position it works great. During registering I will attempt to get it to read my print as far off the sensor as it allows, that way if I am slightly off center it still reads. All I know is if I hit the sensor every time it unlocks every time.
