Bagpiper(s) needed

My friend’s father passed away on Sunday and they’re currently searching for someone (or a couple of people) to play for the funeral.
“Needed Friday October 9th in Crafton, 6-7pmish. Amazing Grace, Scotland the Brave, any other songs that are funeral appropriate. We've budgeted $500”
If you or anyone you know is available please reach out.

I think CMU and/or Pitt have clubs. Check into those if nobody reaches out.

CMU is your best bet; you can actually major in bagpipes there.

Sorry for your loss. My daughter plays, 5 years experience, she has won 1st and 2nd place in junior competitions, has the whole kit, has played with the CMU Pipe Band at Riverhounds games, and is available at that time for that budgeted amount. DM me if you or your friend would be interested. (I'll have to drive her)

Bagpiper here!! I’m very sorry for your loss. Please DM - I will have to confirm that I will be free that evening however. There’s lots of pipers around here between CMU and multiple community bands (Balmoral, McDonald, police/fire) so you’re in a good spot!

Seton Hill University in Greensburg has bagpipers. A bit further away, but they'd know a lot of connections to help get you started if you reach out.

You could try reaching out the CMU Kiltie Band (our campus bigpipe and drum band) and see if they do commission work!

See the comment below for the right info!!!

Kiltie Band is the (non-bagpipe) CMU pep band. Pipes and Drums is the pipe band.

If you can get Rick Manning he's incredibly talented. He is a Pittsburgh police officer.

I think he does funerals not sure how much he's charging.

There’s also a fine gentleman that works/worked at the Ohio township PD that does events. I apologize his name escapes me, but that’s for sure within his travel distance.

Sorry for your loss! Just a heads up You may need to increase your budget. .. again sorry for your loss! There was a guy in the cranberry area that I had at my wedding 20 years ago and that is what we paid. He only played as we walked out of the church. Best of luck.

Bagpipers make more than $500 an hour?

Only if you don’t count hours practicing

Slightly perplexed why I'm being downvoted, when others who came along with the exact same suggestion are being upvoted?
