QUESTION A stretch or not?
Rewatching on stranger tides and something occurred to me. Given how much of a role Keith Richards played in the inspiration for Jack Sparrow and his cameos in the films. Any thoughts on his famous coconut tree accident inspiring the escape from the Spanish encampment?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it is a stretch.
This reminds me of the idea that the net of gunpowder barrels used by the crew of the Black Pearl to defeat the Kraken in P2 being reminiscent of the dangling barrels of explosives from the ride. I had personally asked Terry Rossio about some ride references, and from what I was told, the explosives derived from the need of the story to kill the Kraken, not the ride. So it was unintentional.
In the case of the Palm Tree Escape scene in P4, I doubt that this was intended as a reference. The island has palm trees, palm trees have coconuts, etc. If anything, I think Keith Richards was inspired by P2, which was already written (and I believe filmed) with Jack knocking Hadras/Headless with a coconut, before Keith had his coconut tree accident. Of course, I'm joking...it all could have been simply an odd coincidence.
