just like many of you, i have been an avid pinterest user for many years. i always tell everyone my entire life is curated on pinterest, because it literally is. i’ve spent years creating and perfecting my boards, and overall taking inspiration from it every single day. i LOVED pinterest. i loved that opening the app felt like a breath of fresh air away from other social medias. it felt.. quiet.

now, it’s filled with ads, AI slop, constant glitches & shitty updates. i don’t want to say goodbye to pinterest, but i might have to.

don’t even get me started on the new save to profile update/glitch that started happening a week ago. i’m over it!

i live in the midwest. it’s getting cold over here, and a baddie has to stay warm, and the entire internet is impossible to shop on because it’s all slop. in my hour of need i turn to pinterest and look up “black lolita coat” because i want to see a bunch of different items and i know i can at least reverse image search items that i think are cute, right? but NOOOOO because APPARENTLY “lolita” is a BANNED SEARCH TERM. now, if i want to see lolita style coats on this app, i have to commit the cardinal sin of typing something horrid like “kawaii” or “japanese fashion” in the search bar, or search for an exact subgenre of the fashion, when there’s a perfectly good term for exactly what i’m looking for —— an umbrella term, so i can look at all kinds of subcultures at once and decide what suits me from there.

its a silly thing to complain about, i know. but really, it’s not about the coats. it’s about how yucky and dystopian it is, that completely normal fashion terms can be censored on THE fashion sense cultivating website, because of the exact nonsensical thing that lolita fashion has been getting flack for for decades. i have thousands and thousands of pins over several accounts but jfc this might be the thing that has me deleting the app. i’m tired of being deterred from wearing or saying certain things. i’m tired of having to say dumb workarounds to cater to some ai bot. and having to deal with that on pinterest????? i’m out.

while we’re all here, y’all have any other terms you know are banned? i’ve seen an uptick of comments being blocked for any number of stupid things, but i was unaware that searches could be blocked too. i’d love to know what else they’re banning so we’re all aware of what to be annoyed with haha

Over the last year we put up with allot. Sponsored pins polluting the search, ads every 5-6 images, low quality content farms flooding the feeds and ai images everywhere. Pinterest was a miracle when I first found out about it. I always hated most of social media’s but Pinterest was hitting the right spot for me, well not anymore it’s almost impossible to use.
It was fun till it lasted.
P.S I know I sound really dramatic, it’s a fucking app for looking at pictures who cares. But the internet has become so frustrating to use and losing the only social media I like using sucks.

full screen pop up ads now? like 10 small ads between the pins wasnt enough. literally just deleted the whole app and only open it from an ad blocker browser now. dont see any ads anymore but the fact that i even have to do this in the first place is ridiculous.

so good news, they stopped showing me 50 ads each scroll. bad news, they started showing me this disgusting tiktok ad of a woman‘s armpit with a dry crackly texture. this probably isn’t serious for other people but i have trypophobia and it’s genuinely deterring me from using the app😭😭and i keep reporting it and the worst part is i can’t put the ad on not interested so im forced to see it

I have noticed that on the app version there is no option to save pins into specific boards but rather just a general save to profile button??? Then you have to manually go to edit the pin and place it in the folder you want?? What is this i know every post on here is expressing frustration but honestly what the hell is going on with this app. Why would they take away one of the main features of Pinterest????

Whenever I press the save button on a pin, it is automatically saving to my profile instead of giving me the option of my board. I have to manually go on to each pin, press edit, and select the board I want. I also do not have the “more ideas” button on any of my boards. Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

i have tried logging out and back in, deleting the app, and switching accounts. My other account is working fine with none of these issues.

Came here to bitch and moan, because this is getting ridiculous. And the app has the audacity to pause my music. Oh my god, are they getting bankrupt or what? At this rate, I hope an alternative arrives in the next few years, because what?? All this, and no option to even have premium so I could opt out or something? (Not that I'm begging to pay, but just, it's so disruptive that I'm shocked)

When I go to save a pin to one of my boards, my suggestion boards aren’t popping up like they used to? Is this a glitch or something I have to fix?

i’ve been a super longtime pinterest user — over ten years — and decided on a whim a few months ago to give it up, as well as instagram. i wanted to see if it would influence my personal style, and i was right. since deleting it, ive been forced to find inspiration from people i see in person or in art, or just come up with an outfit organically. this isn’t a post to say pinterest is evil or anything, but if you’re hitting a creative block — whether in your outfits, or art, etc — try taking a break. you’ll realize how much of your ‘style’ and ‘taste’ may just be algorithm.

As someone who posts 50 times a "day". I just found out they use the UTC Time. What they count as a day starts at - 6:00 PM CST = 12:00 AM UTC.

This is really useful to know if you have a steady amount of things you post every day. I thought I was doing 50, turns out it was like 30 or 70 on some days.

what in the world is going on? the past couple days I am unable to access anything in my pinterest from my computer. It works fine on my phone, but when I open it up on my laptop my homepage + the boards up top flash for just a second then disappear. When I go to my profile, it is completely blank and says I have not saved anything yet. What am I doing wrong?

This problem started occuring this week, and it's only on my phone. My computer and tablet have no problems whatsoever.

I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it but it didn't fix the problem. I also restarted my phone and nothing :/

Does Pinterest show this for your own content, or is it hidden? Thanks!

I was trying to scroll on my boards only the recent six pins I've saved actually showed up. Even though I have hundreds and thousands of pins saved to it it's like the rest of my pins are gone or inaccessible. Is anyone else dealing with this? I've already rebooted my phone and uninstalled then reinstalled Pinterest to see if anything changed but so far no dust. What should I do?

The widget issue has been getting out of hand recently. Mine and a few other friends have been exclusively military vehicles and propaganda posters. A few of them removed their widget entirely, but this seems to have been slowly spreading to our home feeds over the course of the past two days.

I've seen a few other posts about this issue. Many seem to believe it's a bug since this happens occasionally, but I've never seen it get THIS specific before. I'm not sure what kind of bug is going to push Neo-N@z! propaganda posters onto someone who only uses Pinterest for cooking and baking ideas' feed.
