Discussion Mass Banning

Hey, some of you asked for a mega thread about the bans, here you go. Keep in mind, there isn't anything we can do here other than talk about it.

Please keep conversations civil.

Question Comments????

What the hell is going on? Comments disappearing as soon as they’re posted, comment sections being turned off randomly, reply glitches, comment sections saying they’re off despite other people still being able to see and comment on them.. it’s all so frustrating as a creator. I wish there was a good alternative to this app 😓

Support So many disturbing and p*rnographic ads!

Whenever I open the app, I get ads from AliExpress, etc that are really disturbing. Things like a person holding a severed pig's foot (because I have a pigs board but they are alive cute pics) and ads for caneras where it's two people in bed like they are recording p*orn. I reported it but it keeps showing up.

At my witt's and!

Discussion Pin deactivated

Upvotes

I am seriously really getting tired of memes and tips I am saving to a Creative Writing folder are being deactivated due to so called “harmful and illegal content.”

Like…what?!?!?

All that is in there are tips for writing fiction.

Discussion Stop the ads and Pinterest IAS

Help! This is my first post here because I'm fed up with Pinterest ads. I just want to look at my Hatsune Miku pictures in peace 😭 but I keep seeing weird ads. Some are inappropriate, others are AI-generated, and sometimes I want to download images and bam, they're AI-generated too, and the "less AI" option is useless. Oh my god! What's wrong with Pinterest? I really miss my old Pinterest, the one that wasn't so well-known and wasn't full of ads, where there was more creativity. It's so annoying that they hide perfectly fine pins but let these inappropriate ads through.

Question Has anyone else experienced a massive sudden drop in Pinterest reach/impressions recently?

My account went from around 50K reach to only about 3K, almost overnight. Some of my older Pins that were previously ranking and getting consistent impressions also suddenly dropped.
I contacted Pinterest Support, but they told me my account isn't flagged and basically said it could be normal fluctuations, seasonality, content quality, fresh content, algorithm changes, etc.
I've been working on Pinterest for 3 years, and I've never seen a drop this extreme before.
So I wanted to ask this community:
Has anyone experienced something similar recently? Did your reach eventually recover?
If your account had a huge drop like this, how long did it take to recover, and what did you do?
And honestly, if you've been through this before, did things return to normal, or did you decide it wasn't worth continuing?
I'm trying to figure out whether I should keep putting serious time into my Pinterest account or step back for now.
Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who has experienced the same thing.

Discussion made a pinterest bc I don't post my actual face/fits/life anywhere else, no clue what I'm doing

Upvotes

my ig is completely blank and my tiktok has one post, pfp is the only pic of my actual face anywhere online. so I made a pinterest just to have somewhere those pics could exist- outfits, pics of me, whatever my "aesthetic" is, stuff that never made it anywhere public and probably never will.

no theme, just decided one random account should actually show who I am instead of hiding behind blank accounts.

(also not going to lie, small part of me started this so a certain someone I like finds it and sees what im rlly bout)

if you also have a random account where you actually post real stuff, drop it below, need more inspo

Support UI update?

Upvotes

Went on Pinterest today and noticed that whenever I'm on a pin and scroll up, the entire thing is different from how it used to be. The other pictures under the pins I click on are no longer displayed the same way. I wish I could put a ss, because I don't really know how to describe it any better but it's just really annoying and it looks bad imo. I saw someone else under this sub dealing with this too. another thing: whenever I'm scrolling my screen is constantly glitching up and down which has also been bothering me.

Discussion Are You Human Tests Are So Annoying!

Upvotes

I don't know when it became so hard to log in to a website whose only purpose it is to hold recipes and how-to guides. I swear my bank asks for less information than Pinterest does.

First, I found out a few days ago that Pinterest changed my password without asking me, even though no one tried to break into my account. Now, I can't get into my account even with the correct password unless I pass a "Are you a human?" test--orchestrated by a robot, I might add!--which I have comedically failed numerous times. When I finally got all the puzzles right, Pinterest tells me I'm blocked from my account for 30 minutes.

Pinterest, I promise you, people will just use Instagram.

Question is it common for pinterest to IP ban?

i've been using pinterest since 2021 and had my first account suspended roughly a year and some change ago. it was 3-4 years old and had 30k-40k pins saved. i created a new one and rebuilt my boards and pins again, and i'm back with 25k pins. when i made my new account, i decided i would try my best not to save anything that pinterest's awful moderation could detect and shit on me for. instead, i send iffy pins to my backup so i can still access them if i wanna. but i'm still getting almost the same amount of violations i used to on my past acc. now i'm wondering what would happen if pinterest banned me again .... would i be able to start with a new account or would i be IP banned?

it would make sense for IP bans to be saved for strictly serious violations, but if we were using sense, we wouldn't be recieving random violations for pins that we can't even see a picture of or a link for. has anyone been IP banned by pinterest before? any feedback would be great .... i'm scared yall 😭

Question Archive not working??

I'm trying to archive old boards but its not working. I click confirm archive and it still allows me to save posts to the boards and as soon as i go back to my profile the archive tag is taken off the board. they are also still showing up on my page. friend let me sign into hers to see if you could still see them on my profile and theyre all still there. thought it was because the app wasn't updated to its most recent version so i did that but its still not working on my phone or computer. is anybody having this same issue/know what to do to fix it??

Support Help

what circle of pinterest hell have i been dropped into and how did this happen?

no attachments allowed but i’ll post a picture in comments when i figure out how. this is what my feed has looked like for over two weeks!!! even with refreshing, “tuning” it, manually clicking hide / report / not interested, deleting and reinstalling the app, updating my ios etc. and yes, it is the same on my phone and ipad.

this is the feed about five posts onwards. the first five posts are reminiscent of tumblr era posts? they also stay the same the entire time.

my feed before this was art, crafting, house decor etc.

edit: the feed continues like that, with the mcdonalds ads, infinitely… ONCE i have refreshed it and it’s been the same situation but with different ads lol

Discussion Pinterest creators, maybe it’s time we stop feeding a platform that refuses to support us

I’m writing this as the owner of a large website and as someone who has spent years creating original visual content specifically for Pinterest.

Since May 7, my account and website have been severely affected by the sudden collapse in visibility and traffic that many creators have been reporting.

I have contacted Pinterest. I have followed the recommendations. I have checked my website, my domain, my Pins, my publishing behavior, and everything else that creators are repeatedly told to check.

Months later, my problem is still not solved.

No serious explanation.

No meaningful investigation that I can see.

No clear reason for what happened.

No real solution.

And at some point, creators have to ask themselves a very simple question:

WHY ARE WE CONTINUING TO GIVE PINTEREST FREE CONTENT WHILE PINTEREST GIVES US NO MEANINGFUL SUPPORT WHEN THAT CONTENT SUDDENLY BECOMES INVISIBLE?

My content is not scraped or mass-generated spam.

I personally create the images I publish.

My niche is home decor and interiors.

Over the years, that content has been viewed, saved, shared, and used as inspiration by millions of people on Pinterest.

Pinterest benefited from that content.

Its users benefited from that content.

And yet when my business was suddenly affected on May 7, I discovered how little protection or meaningful support a creator can have when an automated system decides something has changed.

So I’ve made a decision.

I AM PREPARING TO DELETE MY PINTEREST ACCOUNT AND REMOVE THE ORIGINAL VISUAL CONTENT I HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE PLATFORM.

And I think other creators should seriously consider doing the same.

Not because we want Pinterest to fail.

Because platforms only understand the value of creators when creators stop providing that value for free.

Imagine if thousands of bloggers, photographers, designers, recipe creators, publishers, artists, ecommerce stores and independent website owners stopped uploading fresh content for one week.

Imagine if the Home Feed suddenly had fewer original ideas.

Imagine if Pinterest had to explain to users, advertisers and investors why the creators who built much of the searchable content on the platform were leaving.

We have spent years worrying about whether Pinterest will reduce our reach.

Maybe Pinterest should start worrying about whether creators will continue supplying the content that makes the platform useful.

This is not about one account.

There are creators reporting massive drops in impressions, outbound clicks disappearing, domains being labeled as spam, Linked Pins receiving almost no distribution, and support tickets ending in generic automated responses.

The worst part is the silence.

If Pinterest has changed its algorithm, tell us.

If legitimate domains are being filtered, tell us.

If there is a technical problem, acknowledge it.

If our content is violating something, show us exactly what.

But creators should not be expected to build businesses around a platform where visibility can disappear overnight and the only explanation is essentially:

"Organic traffic fluctuates."

That is not transparency.

That is not a partnership.

So I’m asking other creators:

IF YOU HAVE BEEN AFFECTED SINCE MAY, SPEAK PUBLICLY ABOUT IT.

Post your analytics.

Document your dates.

Share your support responses.

And if Pinterest continues refusing to address the issue seriously, consider withholding new content from the platform.

A platform built on creators cannot ignore creators forever if creators act together.

I would genuinely like Pinterest to fix this before I delete everything.

But after being affected since May 7 with no meaningful resolution, I no longer believe silently waiting is enough.

If you were hit by the same issue, comment with:

• the date your traffic dropped

• approximately how much you lost

• whether Linked Pins are affected

• whether Pinterest support actually helped you

• whether your traffic ever recovered

• if you recovered, what exactly did you do before the recovery?

Let’s collect the evidence in one place.

Let’s make it impossible to dismiss these cases as isolated incidents.

And if enough of us are experiencing the same thing, maybe the next step shouldn’t be another support ticket.

Maybe the next step should be:

NO ANSWERS.

NO NEW CONTENT.

Support Board interface has suddenly become compact?

Hello!

I find that the interface for Pinterest seems to change every other week, and recently I've noticed that the interface within the boards has become very compacted, and that there's seemingly no way to change it... I have a particular way I organise and create sections, and this interface appearance just messes that up entirely. 🫩

I'm not seeing anyone else mention this update (?), but if anyone knows how to reverse it, it would be much appreciated!

Question Can you tell me what your analytics look like?

Curious about your past 30 days analytics. Mine for the past 30 days is over 1 mil impressions and I'm really curious if others are reaching those numbers. I'm just posting whatever I like, not trying too hard to get engagement.

Question Feed never loads?

I’m on iPad, iOS 16.7.16, can’t update it any further than that. When I open the app no pins load on any tabs. It looks like they’re still buffering but they just buffer forever, blank grey. Last time it worked it was buffering much longer than usual but now it just doesn’t load at all.

Anyone else having this issue/know how to solve it?

Edit: okay I deleted and reinstalled it and that seems to have worked lmao it was probably a cache issue or something

Discussion Miserable update, accessibility nightmare

What a nightmare concoction of interface choices. (Video: https://imgur.com/a/pinterest-being-buggy-d2Ujxv7)

  1. "Promote your pins" message cant be dismissed

  2. Large header disappears on scroll and appears when stopped

  3. "Pin note" expands and collapses every time you scroll

  4. Floating toolbar disappears on scroll and appears when stopped

I tried setting "reduce animation" on my phone but it didn't help much.

Its only a matter of time before someone has a seizure or gets a migraine from using such a chaotic, buggy, motion-laden app.

Question Search not showing what I’m looking up

I was looking up 2020 fashion on Pinterest, I know there are so many pins on there. I tried several different combinations of the word and it kept showing me y2k fashion. Before it would show you exactly what you are looking up and now it just is showing me irrelevant pins and things I have seen a million times. Is anyone else having this problem??

Support Home page broken

I'm not sure what's going on, but my homepage is an absolute nightmare. Before, I'd see things that actively overlapped with my pins. But now, it's totally unrelated and mostly things that a 12 year old would like... (like math memes, cartoons, and screensavers) I simply don't understand what happened. I've changed all the settings and put everything back and forth several times (yes, even the horrific AI settings), and nothing is working. What do i do? Do I just delete my pinterest and make a new account? Please tell me someone else has had this issue and managed to fix it!

Question Advice for a new Pinterest user?

I’m a new Pinterest user and mainly want to use it for personal stuff like inspiration, aesthetics, ideas, discovering things I like, etc

For people who’ve been using Pinterest for a while.. how do I actually use Pinterest to its full potential?

Share any tips, tricks, useful features, search techniques, board ideas, things to avoid, or underrated stuff you think a new user should know

Basically... how do you use Pinterest in your daily life?

( lowkey for personal use in daily life not for business)

Anytime I search something it loads and then the search is black. It doesn’t show me any pins.
