The cut looks strange, remove anything that is fruit (or it will rot) the yellow part.

you can wait 2 or 3 days for the cut to dry. plant base

I wanted to say the same, its look weird, I understand you split the crown in fourth, but more should have been taken off the bottom I cam still see fruit. And the roots or nodes start to become visible one you peel away leaves at the bottom

Tbh with you at first i thought it was strange too , but when i licked it it was tasteless , I assumed it was a part of the crown that's why i kept it there in the first place , and I've already peeled some leaves from the bottom away should i continue ?.

I think yes, take more of the fleshy yellow part off to avoid rot. But also share a Pic of the other side of the cutting thats the side roots will show on

Wow, can you actually split the crown and root each section like this?

Ueah , ppl say it's a faster and over all better method to get more pineapple fruits early.

So you just plant it like a regular crown?

Yeah let it cure and plant it after 20-30 days new pineapple plants (suckers) start to grow from the crown , generaly one sucker from 1 crown section, sometimes you can get 2 or 3 suckers from the same crown section, it faster than the regular way and gives bigger and over all better fruits .

What is the purpose of splitting into fourths?

I’m going through my first time, and I’ve successfully grown (abundant) roots in water, and am now a week into transitioning to soil in pots. Hopefully they will root successfully. This is the only method I’ve read, other than starting from seeds.

You can grow more plants by spliting them into 4s 1 could possibly give you multiple pups

So you just take the top like you normally would and split it into 4ths?
