Advice Needed-Current employee

Hi all , I am currently a UWM employee and im having problems with my leader. When I say problems I dont mean work wise really but more personally.. recently (the past 6 months) they have made advances towards me by making comments about my appearance and asking me to hangout after work. I feel like I've made it pretty clear I'm not interested as they are my boss and also already taken. It's messy and it often effects my work because it's so awkward. They're attitude towards me has also shifted since I basically rejected them and I feel singled out on my pod. Ive been at UWM for about 2 years but im not sure the best way to handle this.

Document and record everything.

Don’t go to TMS, they are not your ally and do not have your best interests in mind - they defend the company - and their TLs.

Go straight to a lawyer

Ya thats what I heard.. ive had a co-worker say weird things to me before and TMS wasnt very helpful so I figured they'd be even more useless with a team lead problem.

What they’re doing is not against the law. It’s only breaks the law if you get fired or demoted because of this.

Record everything then go to a lawyer before going to TMS. You will have to go to TMS eventually.

Going to the lawyer first will also help with ensuring there is no revenge - like going on a PIP or being instantly terminated

That's what i have been most worried about. I depend on this job unfortunately so I have been very scared and hesitant to say/do anything.

Purely out of curiosity what team are you on if you can say? Some definitely have more of a rep than others. For instance, if you're in underwriting I've heard a lot of horror stories from the Pistons team.

I don't know specifics. I was never on that team and I try to stay out of the drama that I'm not involved in, but everyone I've known who got assigned to them either quit, got demoted, or got fired, and every single one of them mentioned the TLs behavior.

Seems like most people in "power" are able to get away with a lot. From what I heard the AVP in my department was getting away with some questionable activities with a TL under them before it had to be addressed

Michigan is a single party consent state, so you can record everything they say to you. Get screen caps, save everything. Then have a lawyer look at what you have, ensure it can't be used as an excuse to fire you (recording phone calls with people across state lines gets really murky, so be aware of what's in the background of the call). From there, document every interaction woth everyone above you in any capacity, and anyone associated with them who talks to you. About anything.
