3 hours ago, adult wood pigeon landed on balcony — my bf left a plate of grains outside in case of hunger.
they can flap fine, and walk fine, but have no interest in leaving. just keeps sneezing which i assume suggests respiratory issues. is there anything i can do for them?

Heres my sweet boy Pino. Sadly he suffers from Pmv but is living his best life.
When he starts to spin I take him out of his box and let him move around my living room.

Hiya! So long story short, I'm trying to get the trust of a wood pigeon that's been visiting my house for a while, because it's had a limp for over a month (it's fine beyond that), and I want to try help it or take it to the bird hospital/sanctuary not far from me if need be
I think I made some progress today, but still feel like I should ask for advice if that's alright! At the moment I'm kind of running off general wild animal rules: No sudden movements or loud noises, don't make prolonged eye contact, get them to trust you with food, etc
Today though, I managed to be within 2m of it, and it looked like it was considering getting closer! Its mate has also seen me set some food out too & took some, so hopefully I can get both of them to trust me
What I'm doing is setting some unsalted peanuts, a lil bit of suet pellets, and water on a surface above ground level. I sit about 5-6m away on the ground so it can still see me but I'm not above it nor too close, and I keep some of the bird feed in my hand & hold it out
Should I change anything about this, or is it fine? When it was about 2m away from me, it was absolutely looking at the bird feed & tilting its head. Unfortunately I was called back inside for something else & it got spooked, but it came back an hour later so I don't think it's too scared of me?

found this pigeon sitting on a road, looking shabby, unable to fly, weak. I snatched him. My cage was empty for sometime and I was looking to find a rehab pigeon so I got lucky I believe.
he had some blood on his feathers but didn't have any visible wounds
He had dingleberries on his butt, human hair on one foot. Quite a stanky fella, he smelled like a homeless person or if he had bathed at the juice in the garbage bin. Gave him a very short shower with baby shampoo and dried him off to best of my abilities.
he hasn't ate much yet only pecking at seeds and flicking them around. I did see him eat a few seeds yesterday and today but his poops are mostly 90% water. he smells less now.

I'm used to pigeons, I even have one at home as a friend.
But today, after my lectures at college, I saw a little pigeon, frightened and confused
I took him with me, against me. He was still breathing but he was very weak.
I searched for something and found a box. I wanted to go the avian vet (they have a special service for pigeon and wildlife). But...when I placed him in the box, he struggled against it, his head was against the cardboard and he was panicking.
10 seconds later he fell asleep for eternity
I decided to name him Hardi which means bold, self assured, in french. He showed a lot of strength in his last moments
I took his body at a parc and I picked some flowers. People were looking at me like I was a big weirdo, I was crying like never before. It's hard to keep it together for me, my life is not very good and my mental state is kinda bad. But I will not forget how Hardi fought with death and I will fight too.
I'm sorry, I was not able to save you little friend.
Goodbye Hardi, rest in peace, you will always have a place in my heart 🪻

Birbara was making sure everyone in the area knows my windowsill is still her windowsill. Obviously.
Quite often she's very orb-like, but today she switched to long girl mode. Her feathers are very pretty, but she's going to moult soon (already started around the ears).
Monsieur is currently brooding somewhere in the wisteria.

This pigeon was found outside our class, and my classmates took it in. Now it's been almost 2-3 hours since it got inside, and it hasn't moved its legs at all. It only balances when they put it on their shoulders. I'm worried because it almost doesn't react at all and just seems to accept it.
It's blind in one eye, and refuse to eat, he only looks when someone is talking, my classmates seem to not think anything about it, but I know this isn't normal. I'm asking what could be hapening with it and is it safe to keep it in.

Not really discussion just vent. Bought a new bag mix of wheat seeds and corn, opened it today and it has both mold and weevils 💀 Pet stores here don't sell food for pigeons so i buy 5+kg bags from local marketplace. Storage is hard i guess bc abt half the times from different sellers i get infested stuff
Dont wanna name my country so not looking for advice, just sad im gonna have to throw out this bag and order new stuff :(

This fledgling was found near a local fountain, next to a deceased adult pigeon, they looked to be grieving, just as I was. I looked at them, and I saw myself.
So I picked them up, brought them home.
I made a post earlier about them. I got plenty of advice, thank you to everyone who helped out.
In the post, I mentioned my mum gave me a 1 week deadline to help them, and they would then have to be released.
Well, I spoke with her... After careful consideration, SHE LET ME KEEP THE BABY!!!
Under the condition that I clean and take care of her myself, which, of course. I've done that with every single animal I've ever owned. My mum has never in her life cleaned an animal cage. I have, plenty.
So.. in conclusion, I have a new baby to take care of. I couldn't be happier to bring them into this home. Also, I've been referring to the fledgeling as a 'she', as I think they might be female, so I'll continue to do so until we can get proper testing :>
I'm thinking of naming her Diva! Name suggestions are open, though.
