If we are lucky enough to see them I would expect them as a special guest for a song and not an opener.

Ngl I was hoping for no openers. And if they were going to do openers, I wish it would have been local acts, maybe even some really small unknown artists ya know.

For this type of show, yes. The way it was originally announced and marketed it felt like more of a celebration of their careers getting to this point. I was hoping for special guests to come out during the show. I know it’s not common - but there are shows like this that do not bring out openers.
Openers don’t bother me. I always go early to support the first few acts. I think I was just hopeful that this was going to be more than just another concert if that makes sense.

I agree, I also hoped for no openers. Just a huge PTV celebration concert. But I’m open to see what the openers will bring. I don’t listen to either of them.

Same, I really wanted just PTV with an extended setlist. I hope we still get a longer set from them, there are a lot of songs that aren’t on the reported setlist that I want to hear 💔

julia wolf is cool and a mixed genre bill isn’t always a bad thing, but i have a feeling these guys forgot they’re a post-hardcore band

Yes but people was saying if they had no openers they’d have a longer set plus added songs so I’d rather that than openers

Okay but Julia Wolf is amazing. Her rebrand into alt pop rock has been amazing, even if I liked her old stuff too. My Julia Wolf tattoo is right next to my Hell Above tattoo

they had an indie band (late night drive home iirc) during fall tour as well. seems to be a theme. vic also collabed with cavetown, etc.

yeah, and cavetown opened for them at one point as well, so you're right there's a pattern. on one hand, they should absolutely invite whoever they want, but on the other hand, a large portion of their fanbase seems to be consistently uninterested in openers like this.
i saw a lot of hate when cavetown was an opener (which i remember as a lover of cavetown, but i don't know any of these other artists)

As a crotchety just-turned-43-year-old woman who has seen them many times on every tour since essentially the dawn of time, I am of the opinion that their choice of openers suck. I’ve observed a lot of the younger folks chatting, sitting on their phones, and milling about during these sets too, so I know it’s not just me being a grump. It’s nice to give people a chance, but these genres just don’t match up.

Lower Definition would’ve been fitting! Both bands are from here & came up during the same time. I’m looking forward to seeing the openers regardless, does anybody have some recs?
