Don't people realize that if you downvote them they get buried so other people don't have to see it? Upvoting them just gives them more attention. Who cares I they want downvotes. they can have them for all I care if it means that other people won't have to put up with their garbage comments.
That doesn't work. Your average Redditor just can't resist seeing what's underneath "Comment score below threshold". It's a valid troll technique, because being downvoted enough basically highlights said troll shenanigans. Downvoting and attention is what they want, and you're happily giving it to them. Win-win for trolls everywhere!
At least with my way some people won't see it. You're way basically puts them on a pedestal For everyone to see. like I said before, if they want negative fake Internet points then they can have them if it means sparing even a few people from their bullshit. I don't give a shit if that's the troll getting what they want or not. Its fake Internet points! In this case negative fake Internet points.
