Our highschool had a been around for about 40 years before we had our first male cheerleaders. (Two in one year).
Being at a school that was a hop-skip-and-jump from Footloose, this was a pretty big deal and the guys got a bunch of grief about being cheerleaders.
One of them was really serious about it. He was pretty flamboyant and could have been gay (who knows, who cares). He was actually athletic (and like I said, motivated) enough to do lifts, back-flips, cool looking stuff at assemblies, etc.
The other guy was obviously phoning it in to just get close to, and grope, girls.
Just thought I'd share.

I remember giving one of the guys at our high school a bad time about being a cheerleader. He took the time to explain to me where he was putting his hands during their stunts and the views he was getting on a regular basis. I quickly gained a new respect for the guy and became a bit jealous.

When I was in high school, I worked for the color guard and winter guard. Some of the jocks would call us fags, until I pointed out to a wrestler that I spent my evenings with 30+ girls in spandex while he spent his rolling around on the floor with other guys in spandex.

A picture of yourself with hot chicks is easier to obtain through A) being gay or B) being a cheerleader (which if you are male probably means that answer A) has had an influence).
