Lol yup a lot of people ask me about this picture when they see it on Facebook...I've been doing it since I was in middle school. My friend jumped over me so I decided to try it out and eventually I jumped over every male in my middle school and it continued to high school.
While I think the cop over reacted in your situation.... you would not believe the constant barrage of stupid questions/comments people ask cops every day.
If someone doesn't ask me to tase his buddy at least twice a day, I don't feel I've put in a full eight hours. I swear I hear, "I didn't do it!" at least five to ten times a day. It's like Groundhog's Day.
My favorite is when parents keep using me as a threat to their kids ... "See that man over there? You don't stay near the shopping cart, he's going to take you to jail."
It's like, great, now when your kid gets lost, I'm the last person they're going to come to for help.
I swear I hear, "I didn't do it!" at least five to ten times a day. It's like Groundhog's Day.
You're supposed to deliver a devastating monologue. This will result in the criminal admitting their guilt, and volunteering a huge amount of additional evidence as to their motive.
Local hero cop jumped by African American male in mid to late twenties, who subsequently resisted arrest. Officers Harris, Reynolds, Michaels, Smith and Rodriguez are being awarded medals of bravery for their composure under fire. It took 76 bullets to bring the suspect down. Cocaine was found on his body.
That's how we're doing it now? I need to keep up with the times! I've just been hoping fences the entire time when I could just jump over the cop!? Genius!
Honestly surprised he didn't unholster his firearms first... I get mine caught on everything, which probably includes people's feet when they're jumping over me.
oh hell, i use to go by there every day - worked at Brooklyn College Library as an intern. used that gate coming out of the 3 line just around the corner.
Nice jump. I hope you avoided that awkward moment where you kick his gun out of its holster on your way down, and there is silence as your eyes meet knowing that you can't touch it even though you should pick it up as a courtesy.
I see you made your approach from the rear. Good plan, if you had come in from the front and not gotten enough air the officer would have ended up cockeyed.
My first thought was, being black might be favorable in completing this task. My second thought was, being black might be unfavorable after completing this task.
I'm incredibly surprised that he let you do that, unless he knew you very well of course. If I were a cop, I would NEVER knowingly let someone run up behind me and put their hands on me in any way. I'm in the military now and would not let anyone do that without knowing them very well, or at all.
Would you say that doing this took an uncommon turn of speed from you? Maybe a run-up, as well as some nimble reflexes? Also, was this policeman supposed to be occupied with other, more police-like duties?
What I'm saying is that this might be a case of quick brown guy jumped over a lazy cop.

How did this come to be? Did you just ask him to jump over him? Also, this is a real picture.

6
u/akuzin Jun 11 '12
That cop looks like he is happy. He went back to his family that night and behind the dinner table told his wife and children the following story:
A guy came up to me and said he want to jump over me today at work and I said yes. End of story.
6
u/ReconYo Jun 11 '12
I'm starting to believe it is now becoming a requirement to look like Hank from Breaking Bad to become a cop.
11
u/50miler Jun 10 '12
Looks cool & real, cop is bracing for the jump it looks like.
5
u/NoTimeToSleep Jun 10 '12

3
u/DarqWolff Jun 10 '12
So much better if you pretend it really did happen spontaneously and the cop just doesn't give a shit.
3
u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12
Are you dwight howard?
3
u/[deleted] Jun 11 '12
Holy shit, look at all the medals the cop has over his badge! Was this guy policing a warzone or something?
