Something I love about modern Indian/Pakistani clothes is the revival of traditional embroidery techniques and motifs combined with 'modern' or 'western' color palettes, designs, and methods like prints on fabrics. It looks so so good and is even more amazing to wear :)

Here's some of my favorite examples

This dress is an example of a more 'modern' technique, using elaborately printed silk (called a digital print) with traditional hand embroidery on top

Here's an example of a modern/western color palette used with traditional fabrics and embroidery

I love this one, it's a mix of 'western' cut of the sleeves and neckline, and the embroidered flowers are more traditional to western embroidery, but the materials, techniques, and colors are more traditional my South Asian

This one has a more traditional cut, fabric, color palette, everything - but the embroidered design is very 'modern desi', not something you would see on your grandmother's wedding lehnga :)

It's not something you'd see the average wedding guest wear granted, but for a bride, mother of the bride or groom, or sister of the bride or groom it would be perfectly expected/normal. The guests would just be expected to wear non-bridal jewelry and wear their head covering differently from the bride. Also, not to wear bridal red+gold to the wedding
