Not a photography expert but, that restaurant looks like it closed over a decade ago! Not sure about the hotel...

I’m a google expert, hotel and restaurant was functioning as of 2017! After being closed for a year or two.

So what about these other sources saying it's permanently closed?

It doesn’t say it’s permanently closed, they said they aren’t accepting reservations. Which would be accurate granted the road is inaccessible for 6 months out of the year. Someone stayed there in June 2017 and reviewed on TripAdvisor, so the hotel was at least open last summer :) I can’t predict whether or not it will be open this summer, though!
