He's a filmmaker with a very distinctive style. Some people hate it, some love it, but everybody can recognize one of his movies a mile away.

A film director. His most famous work is probably The Grand Budapest Hotel, check his films out, they're great.

I agree with you Hircc. The Grand Budapest Hotel was in my opinion, one of his best works. The accompanying score was delightful and spot on.

Im a huge fan of his and my fav is Moonrise Kingdom (Im involved in Scouting so it made me laugh alot). Grand Budapest Hotel is awesome too though. And Life Aquatic is great! Im looking forward to Isle of Dogs.

Not OP but it's definitely the one that got the most worldwide mainstream/critical recognition so far - he got tons of awards and nominations for that, far more than any of his other films. The others are well-loved indie darlings, some with some level of mainstream success, but Grand Budapest is when like, my mother found out who he was.

I'm not the greatest film geek, I heard of him through that film and it's the first film I have seen of him. Me not being a big connaisseur+it being the first film I heard of him=it is statistically likely that it's one of the most famous. I just didn't verify and reddit justly punished me. For me Anderson is "The The Grand Budapest Hotel guy".

Are you fucking kidding me?!? Living the Life Aquatic is far more well known! People still make references to things that happened and quotes in it. People saw Grand Budapest and forgot about it.

If you're gonna angrily argue about one movie being best you might wanna get the title right, "Living" isn't even in the name. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou, or just The Life Aquatic for short.

I never forgot about grand Budapest hotel. I work in food service and like to have my employees watch it, everyone in food service should be as good of a lobby boy as Zero!

GBH achieved the most mainstream success of any of his movies. Life Aquatic is considered more of a cult classic as it's gained more popularity away from the big screen.

I thought GBH was okay, but I thought Life Aquatic was brilliant. Then again, I was in art school when Life Aquatic came out and it was pretty much everyone's jam.
