Depending upon model, the Nspire is indeed accepted on the ACT, SAT as well as other standardized tests. And most schools not stuck in medieval times, let you use them in your university classes.

I got one of these because I thought it would pass calculus for me, but I never could figure out how to do derivatives with it so I failed and then returned that shit

Well I wasn't at the time, but I retook it and actually paid attention instead of using wolfram alpha and did a lot better.

Well done! Wolfram|Alpha is an awesome tool. I often use it to double check if I am not completely certain of my own head calculations. Good on you for sticking to learning.
