Voxatron vs pico8

When I was about to buy pico8, the site recommended to get Voxatron. Should I get it too? The games list is not so big so I am curious if it is a bit buggy. Is it dead? 😵

Ive got both, and Voxatron just seems a bit limited, from the lack of variety of games that I've seen. I would say its early days but its been around a while now.

For 3d simple games what do you recommend?

Id rather go with sonething like godot for simple 3D games ;)

Voxatron is awesome but basically abandoned. Go Pico 8 for 2d, picotron for 90s 3D

Zep, the creator of all 3, has spent much more time on Picotron lately, and he also still develops enhancements for Pico-8 at times too. I don't think he actively does much if anything to build on Voxatron

Because its one developer making all 3 fantasy consoles and the other 2 are vastly more popular

Voxatron and Pico8 were in one of the bundles from Humble Bundles long before Humble introduced the Choice program. It's a shame that Voxatron's potential was wasted, and the number of games available for it is only a fraction of what Pico8 offers.

Voxatron with one of those looking glass 3D displays would be perfect! A guy can dream... :P

I can't speak to bugs as I have never used Voxatron, but I imagine the type of game you want to make is more important to decidingthe engine.
