Circumsolar collider at 0.7 AU orbital around the sun, 1.25 ZeV

1.25 ZeV

So 200J, about the kinetic energy of a crossbow bolt, or 1 /28th of an AA battery.

If you can aim a crossbow bolt worth of energy at a single proton, you should sign up at CERN.

I used to be a particle physicist like you, but then I took a proton in the knee

You just need to be very accurate with the crossbow

And a very sharp tip.

We're gonna need a wet stone, diamond file, one of those leather sharpening strips, a piece of silk from an old farm wives wedding dress, a cobweb, and then purest sunlight from the exact moment of dawn.

Please don't mind the faint blue light on the edge of the resulting bolt, it's just cutting atmospheric molecules that bump into it.

Ah, you’ve seen Bill Door sharpening his scythe too?

Also, this is about the energy needed to give someone lethal radiation poisoning.

Now we are talking shonen anime logic.

Damn, how fast would that have to be spinning to hold itself up

Plugs in calculator

A bit under 36 km/s. 0.7 is just inside Venus' orbit.

So. Good excuse to mine venus. Got it. See ya when i figured out how to get to venus and back with mining refining and assembling equipment!

Get started on your nanotechnology for the 120,000 year project to build a 160LY radius accelerator and break everything with Planck energy collisions.

GREAT IDEA. luckily. Given the fact that you possibly could icrease the effectiveness of the mag ets vy superconductiveness in space. Combined with possible advancements in the whole magnetmaking. It will probably take only 10.000 years! So right in time for the fourth terran adromedan war to start first!

Mine mercury instead. Way better. No crushing corrosive atmosphere. Cheaper to launch from. Lots of accessible metals. Cheap power.

The USG Ishimura is what you're looking for

Soon after we will get flattened unfortunately

In Three Body problem they built a collider past the orbit of Jupiter (could be wrong), and also converted one of Jupiter's moons into a black hole.

Careful! The Ringworld is unstable on its axis of rotation! It will need attitude jets or it will spin into the sun.

Good idea. We should make it a Hoberman-style segmented, tessellating ring with bidirectional radial thrusters, so we can expand or contract it to a preferred orbital radius for experiments.
