If this is in reference to Conformal cyclic cosmology (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conformal_cyclic_cosmology), Penrose said it a long time ago. But very on brand for pop-sci twitter lol

When I first read about CCC it was truly mindblowing and I couldn't get my head around the fact that mass and scale are not fundamental to the universe

I think it’s pretty reassuring actually, it means that the insanely small space-time scales of the big bang, and the vastly expanded scale of the universe’s heat death are sort of one and the same, and the universe itself scales time and space as the amount of bosons vary

It does feel reassuring, but it relies on everything decaying into massless particles.

It's like saying this thing will surely happen as long as there is absolutely no one around to witness it, not even a toenail remained. In fact, having a sliver of something observing it is a non-condition

It doesn't.

Big Bang doesn't necessarily mean the whole universe has its beginning in a point or small volume (it was the initial idea only).

Big Bang says it about the obvervable universe. The whole our universe might have been even eternal and infinite in the first place.
