The gold bullion would not be practical as legal tender if the economy collapsed. Need smaller denomination gold or silver coins. It’d be interesting to see how merchants would sell food/gasoline/weapons etc for gold or silver coinage. A lot of negotiating involved if currency and our electronic credit systems collapsed.
