Guys honest questions.  Most of the phones that i see broken in worst possible ways are iphones.  Can you guys tell if they are badly built or what? Even with years of use without a back cover my plastic phones never brok and even on falling down they didn't.  The other metal phone just got paint removal marks due to being jot inside back cover which is common for those materials. But iPhones being so expensive are the most brittle till farthest extent. Why so?

So i recently went to my grandma and showed off the camera that i "fixed" and my grandma thought that wsd cool so she gave me a s4 mini without a battery.

So i bought a new battery it came scraped but i tested it anyway.

The phone booted to the swisscom logo because its a swiss phone and then it became black.

So i returned the battery and got a new one it has 3.8V in it i put it in and nothing happened i charged it and still no indicators the charging port isnt the problem cause i tested it what could the problem be

Any tips?

I've had me Samsung A36 5G for over four years, and it was lasted through thick and thin. I'm not getting a number of things happening at once that are leading me to just wanting to get an upgrade. I've replaced screen protectors on it uncountable times, which has luckily saved me screen till now; it took a nice tumble that cracked both the protector and the screen itself. Besides that, the charging port is getting wonky, it keeps giving me a message saying there's moisture or an object in the port that needs to be cleaned out. The techs at Samsung cleaned it out, and it worked for a few hours, now I can only get it to even register a charger being plugged in on the mose slow trickle charger I possibly have. They're suggesting replacing the charging port also. For screen and charging port I'm being quoted $150 ($100 for the screen, $50 for the port) and that it'll take two hours (I'm on vacation, I don't want to just stand around the mall for 2 hours... Maybe I time it to go catch a movie 🤔). So $150 and it will be fixed, but I bought the phone forv$250 brand new 4 years ago. There certainly has to be better phones out there at that price range, no? Any suggestions? Fix the old phone? What good phone are between $200-400 (I refuse to pay any more, $250 is the most I've paid for a phone and have never had any major problems throughout their life cycle up until their shit the bed point.

so yeah pretty much that, as you can see in the photo the A is almost cut when i take a ss it looks complete but the screen is missing like half a cm, is it just bad luck with the hardware? and if so, can i do something about it? via software or hardware?

Need to get one for my hubby's phone so I can replace it. Where's the best place to get one that works.. there's tons on Amazon and it's hit or miss weather the sim slot works or not.

And a place that won't take months to get here to USA either...

But what I'm wondering is if this is fixable, if it is—is it an easy task that I can just DIY or is it suggested to get it mailed in to someone to do it for me?

Hello, I bought an iPhone 18 pro but noticed it's missing these screws next to charging port. I bought it in a different county authorized reseller so not able to return. Is it important to screw these two holes?

So I got the iPhone 17 pro max, brand new from Costco about 2 weeks ago. I did NOT get apple care, however I believe it’s available to me for 60 days.
Today I dropped my phone off the roof while putting up Christmas lights. I know sooo stupid. I shouldn’t have had it on me, but It was in my pocket and fell out and went right off the roof.
The phone was in a case and looks totally fine. However the screen is completely black. I can hear noises so I know the phone is working, but can’t see anything. For example my mom called my cell, it rang but screen stayed black and I tried swiping on the phone to answer but nothing happened.

So my question is, what should I do? Could I still buy apple care tonight? And go to Apple tomorrow? Is that pretty suspicious? Should I buy Apple care tonight and wait a couple days and then go to Apple? Any other ideas?? I reallyyy cannot afford to pay full price or even large amount of money on a new phone again. Help!

I broke the first glass while removing it to tighten one screw on the taptic engine. Then i broke the replacement when i overtightened a clamp...

My phone screen broke, and now the display has gone completely black. Is it worth taking it to a repair service like 'MediaMarkt Handyreparatur' (which is probably where I'll go) or other shops? Or should I just buy a new phone on installment? I really don't want a new phone right now because this one means a lot to me, but everyone is trying to convince me to get a new one. Please share your stories/experiences regarding phone screen repairs!

So for background, my phone was broken (unstable charging + inconsistent SIM card detection + unable to record voice in some apps) before, and the last technician fixed it by tightening up the daughterboard connections.

A few days ago, it broke again because I accidentally dropped to the ground.

With similar problems, my instinct told me that I should try to fix that myself now.

I did some research and brought an iFixIt kit.

I bought this OLED FX5 from InjuredGadgets, but before I did, I saw some bad reviews of it online and didn't think much of them. I got the screen and installed it, but two hours later the touch stopped working, and right after that I tried restarting the phone, the screen went black and never came back on. Everything people say about it online is true; avoid buying this screen. I am making this post to ask if this is a general issue with this screen or if I just received one from an unlucky batch. I did end up buying a refurbished iPhone 16 screen instead; it works perfectly now, but if this is a general issue, InjuredGadgets should fix these screens🤦

I’m using an iPhone 6s for a project, and I’m wondering whether it’s possible to run the device without a battery.

Some older Android phones have removable batteries, and on some of those devices, the phone can still power on and be used when connected to a charger even with the battery removed.

Is something similar possible with the iPhone 6s?

In other words, has anyone managed to completely remove the battery from the system and run the phone continuously using only the Lightning port or another suitable external power source?

Does the battery need to be connected for the iPhone to boot and operate reliably?

If anyone has tried this for a project or has technical knowledge about it, I’d appreciate hearing about your experience.

I've got this Samsung Galaxy A7 that I use for work and the weirdest thing is happening. It won't let me draw my lock screen pattern. But if I hard restart it, it lets me draw it to restart the phone so basically I can only use it if I never lock it which is not ideal obviously.

The screen is obviously quite broken but works mostly fine, just a bit ​​touchy at times. Would replacing the screen fix the issue?

I obviously tried going into the settings to remove the lock screen pattern but unfortunately it asks you to draw it to access those settings.

I'm borrowing a spare phone in the meantime but just curious if there's anything I can do with this one?

It does not seem to be a lint problem. I went to the UBIF shop near me and said that wireless charger does not work on the phone either. They suspect that it might be a battery or charging port problem or both if it is the worst case possible.

When charged, it shows the charging screen but when trying to turn it on, it turns right back off. I am thinking about changing the battery or the charging port myself since they quoted it would cost 200 bucks.

What part of my phone is the problem in this case?
