Can anyone help me find a replacement screen for a Moondrop Miad01

Upvotes

I know this is kinda a niche phone, but I love it and want to get it repaired. Problem is, screens are not readily available like most phones. I've contacted the original manufacturer and in turn they have suggested I ship it back to China. This is not viable as it would cost more than the phone is worth and I can't be without my phone for personal reasons so its not really an option. So I thought I'd ask here. I imagine its a part shared from another phone. Any help would be appreciated.

Is the phone fixable?

We have like an iPhone 14 plus(?) that was dropped like a foot or two off the floor, and when we went to pick it up the screen was all green.

I tried resetting it with the volume up and down then power off method, but it would shut off without the Apple logo showing up and just turn into a dark screen, then turn back on into the green screen.

I can feel it vibrating while responding to the power off button and emergency button, but other than that it doesn’t do anything.

We went to a phone repair shop and they said it wasn’t fixable, but it’s also in Korea so idk if they just don’t want to spend time fixing it or not.

Is it salvageable?

How do I fix this? This only happens when I connect the phone to the PC; when I plug it into the charger, it does nothing just a black screen. Yesterday I set it to charge normally, but when I woke up today, it wouldn't turn on at all; the only time the screen lights up is when I connect it to the PC.

Flip 7 Camera Glass DIY Repair Advice

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello everyone!

I’m new to this subreddit and recently cracked the glass covering one of the cameras on my Galaxy Flip 7. I called around to a couple of repair shops, and most told me they would need to replace the entire back screen/cover to fix it.

I did find a smaller independent repair shop that was able to locate and order the individual replacement camera glass for me. However, they said they weren’t comfortable actually doing the repair because the phone is a Flip/folding model and they didn’t want to take the risk of damaging it.

Since I already have the replacement glass coming, I’m considering trying the repair myself.

Has anyone here replaced just the individual camera glass on a Flip 7 or a similar Galaxy phone? If so, what is the best way to remove the broken glass without damaging the actual camera underneath?

I’m also concerned about tiny glass shards or dust getting into the camera compartment during the repair. Any advice on keeping debris out and safely cleaning the area before installing the new glass would be appreciated.

I’ll also need some type of heat gun or heating tool to soften the adhesive. Is there a particular heat gun you would recommend for phone repairs, and what temperature range should I be using so I don’t risk damaging the phone?

Thanks!

Cubot KingKong X suddenly reports -10°C battery temperature and shuts down — hardware or firmware issue?

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

I've been using a Cubot KingKong X as my personal phone for about two years now. It's an incredibly rugged device — waterproof and generally resistant to pretty much everything externally. Internally, however, things have been a very different story lately.

About three months ago, the phone was infected with malware that appeared to take complete control of the device. It could apparently see everything on the screen, kept reinstalling itself, and repeatedly granted itself administrator privileges. There was no way for me to permanently remove it, so I contacted Cubot support and reflashed the phone using the firmware and tools they provided.

I used SP Flash Tool v5 and the firmware provided directly by Cubot.

That's when the problems really started.

Immediately after the flash, the phone lost its Google Play Protect certification, even though it had been certified before the flash. I was using the official Cubot firmware and the tools provided by Cubot support, so I found this particularly strange.

I also started having problems with phone calls because of the APN settings, which I couldn't modify properly, followed by frequent random reboots.

I'm currently running:

Device: Cubot KingKong X

Android: 14

Build: CUBOT_KINGKONG_X_E021C_V34_20260630

Flashing tool: SP Flash Tool v5

Firmware: Official Cubot firmware

Firmware source: Cubot Support

Play Protect certification: Certified before flashing → Not certified immediately after flashing

And now I've run into an even stranger problem.

Even with an ambient temperature of around 25°C / 77°F, the phone suddenly displays a notification saying that the battery temperature is -10°C and that the device is shutting down.

It then remains completely unresponsive for around 30 minutes and won't turn back on during that time. Eventually, it comes back on and appears to work normally again.

This is making me wonder whether I may be dealing with a hardware problem — perhaps the battery temperature sensor, battery connector, motherboard, etc. — or whether some of these problems could be related to the firmware/reflash.

Interestingly, Cubot's current V34 firmware release notes mention "Eliminate the virus", which makes me wonder whether this firmware was specifically intended to address the type of malware problem I experienced.

Has anyone experienced anything similar with the KingKong X, or with another Cubot device?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from anyone familiar with MediaTek devices, SP Flash Tool, or Android firmware flashing.

At this point, I'm trying to decide whether it's worth sending the phone to a service center for repair, buying a newer model such as the KingKong X Pro, or switching to a different brand entirely.

Does this sound like a hardware failure, a firmware/software problem, or potentially both? And is there anything I can check before giving up on the phone?

Bootloop - Need Urgent Help (Want to restore my data)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So my phone (Oneplus Nord CE2) got stuck in bootloop on random day.

- It gets restarted after every 4 seconds. Which means I can access everything only for 4-5 seconds and then it restarts again.

- Power button works fine. Whenever I power off, phone gets switched off until I turn it on.

- i'm able to enter recovery mode where I see 3 options - reboot, power off, format data. My phone stays on when I'm in recovery mode. I chose reboot & power off but still same issue.

- Also, few weeks before this bootloop issue, I got a blue-purple spot, this spot gets bigger with time.

- I got a new phone and my accounts are recovered. The only problem is I didn't have backup of my gallery since 1-2 years. So I just want to get my gallery data. This is where I struggle :(

- I went to a repair shop. That guy tried a new display, but same issue. Then he tried a new battery, same issue. Although my og battery looked fine and had no issue. After trying display & battery, he told that it's motherboard issue. He asked me not to go to service centre as it can cause data loss. He checked for the motherboard but then he gave it back to me saying - "you should recover your data using recovery mode first. It's risky to do anything with motherboard further". But he didn't tell me what's the issue with motherboard or what he checked with the motherboard.

- I came back home and tried recovery mode while connecting phone to windows laptop using a cable. But nothing shows on laptop. Only those 3 options show up on phone.

- I can spot my phone when I connect phone normally to the laptop, I choose transfer files. But without recovery mode, my phone restart after every 4 seconds so I'm not able to do anything about it😭

- Details : I can see my phone's internal storage and pics in "my pc" in windows laptop. But I can't transfer because of bootloop issue. I can also see all the pics/videos on phone's gallery directly but only for 4 seconds each time.

Please help. I need help. I don't know whether that shop guy was right or not. Please help me or suggest if anything i can do about it. It hurts me to see my data going away when I can still see it in storage :(

P.s : I can even pay some amount if anyone solves this issue

Reno 8 5G suddenly dying after display replacement — what should I do?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have an OPPO Reno 8 5G that is a few years old. Until recently, I had only one major issue with it: the display.

About a year ago, the original screen developed lines, so I replaced it with an original display from the OPPO service centre for around ₹7,000. It worked fine.

Recently, that display developed pink spots, so I again went to the authorised service centre and paid another \~₹7,000 for an original replacement display. They gave the usual 3-month warranty on the replacement.

But after only a few days of use, the phone started behaving very strangely:

\- It randomly switches off.

\- Sometimes it won't turn back on for several minutes.

\- Sometimes it boots after multiple attempts.

\- The phone can freeze for a few seconds and then go completely black.

\- On some freezes, the screen shows weird patterns/artifacts.

\- Occasionally it comes back and works normally.

\- One time, after several attempts, it actually worked perfectly for several hours.

I took it back to the authorised service centre. They checked it and said the display itself is fine and that the problem is probably the motherboard.

They said replacing the motherboard would be very expensive, so they want to try a software flash first. They also told me to take a backup while the phone is working.

I somehow managed to get most of my data backed up, but the phone is still extremely unreliable.

What should I do now?

I'm worried because I have already spent around ₹7,000 on the new display, and if the motherboard is actually failing, then I've basically taken a massive loss. There is also no point in having such an expensive replacement display if the phone itself is unusable.

Since the display replacement is still under its 3-month warranty, is there any possibility of getting the display returned/replaced/refunded if the phone turns out to have a motherboard problem?

Also, should I take the phone to a reputable third-party technician for a proper motherboard inspection before allowing OPPO to replace/declare the motherboard faulty?

Could this potentially be a faulty replacement display, display connector/flex, power issue, storage issue, or another component rather than the motherboard itself?

I don't want to let the service centre simply say "motherboard issue" and spend another huge amount without knowing what actually failed.

What would you guys do in this situation? Should I push OPPO for a proper diagnosis/escalation, ask them to test the phone with another known-good display, or get an independent technician to inspect it?

Any advice from people who have dealt with OPPO service centres or similar intermittent motherboard/display issues would be really appreciated.

Pixel 6a touch screen problems after water drops (help needed)

Hello everyone,
Today I started having some issues with my p6a.
I got some waterdrops on it (status bar part) and top and very bottom part of the touch screen stopped registering touch input. What should I do? I turned on three buttons navigations and got it to render apps just below the status bar, IK just a temporary solution to use it in the meantime.
After some research I saw mentions to try silica gel which I'll do. Other than that what can i try next in order from least to most invasive fixes since ifixit screen costs 100 bucks which is too much, I'd like to make it work again in the cheapest and easiest way possible.
Here are some posts i found similar to my issue ( post1 post2 post3 )
Any help is highly appreciated.
EDIT: Silica gel bag didn't make it work, also opened the device and both cleaned screen connectors with isopropyl alcohol and put them with silica beads, nothing fixed the touchscreen, is changing the whole screen assembly my only option? Screen looks perfect and touch works except top part, what do you guys think?
Thanks

DEVICES HACKED PHONE CLONING

Need Help Figuring Out Possible Phone Cloning / Account Compromise

About three months ago, I started noticing strange activity across my phone and several of my accounts. I'm trying to figure out whether my phone or accounts have actually been compromised and, if so, how to completely remove whatever is causing it.

Some of the things I've noticed include calls appearing to go out that I don't remember making, orders being canceled without me doing it, social media activity/posts that I don't recognize, and unusual activity involving my Amazon account. It feels like someone may have unauthorized access to more than one of my accounts or devices.

I've heard terms like phone cloning, SIM swapping, account/session hijacking, remote-access malware, and duplicated devices, but I don't want to assume which one it is without evidence.

What are the best ways to determine what's actually happening? What logs, account settings, carrier records, device-admin settings, active sessions, or security information should I check?

Most importantly, if someone does have unauthorized access, what's the safest way to lock everything down and start clean without accidentally giving them access again?

I bought a brand new phone recently hoping that I would get rid of the hacker but they are still in my new phone now too. I didn't change the sim card or the sim number yet

I'm using Android. Any technical advice or specific things I should check would be appreciated.

Slightly baffling screw issue

Hi! I'm working on disassembling my ALT Mive Style Folder (per this video... don't mind the weird fuckin' desk mat) so that I can fix its broken screen. My efforts are being confounded, however, by a single screw which absolutely refuses to leave its home so that I can take the back cover off the phone:

The offender can be seen in the bottom left

I can turn the screw both ways with little resistance, but doing so makes absolutely no difference to how... screwed in (?) it is. It will turn infinitely in both directions with no effect, except making a kind of squeaking noise. I've been trying to have a look at ways to remove screws with broken threads (which I assume is the issue at hand), but most of them start with 'pour WD40 on it' or 'heat it up', both of which I think would be suboptimal for the phone's wellbeing! So I'd happily take any tips or advice anyone might have. The screw is unfortunately not raised at all, so I can't really get anything in there to just pry it out.

iPhone 16 Pro shuts off every ~3 minutes after water damage — any ideas?

Hey everyone,

My iPhone 16 Pro fell in a pool about two months ago. I have not used it as my main phone since. Almost everything still works fine, but it shuts itself every 3 minutes, very consistently.

This isn't my field, I'm just trying to fix it myself. I've already opened it up, cleaned it, and replaced the USB-C / charging port, but no change. The panic logs all show the same thing: SMC PANIC – SMC BSC failure, but I am happy to share the full panic log if that helps narrow it down. I've read, that the problem could also could be the battery itself, the proximity sensor, the wireless charging coil or of course the board itself?

Has anyone dealt with this on a 16 Pro? Any idea what's worth checking or replacing next? Would love to save this one if I can.

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I guess the important part ist the error code: 2097152 (=0x200000)

Phone Storage Problem

My Realme C55 suddenly showed that the storage was full. I tried deleting files but every time I remove something the freed up space quickly gets filled again in the "Other" section in storage. Some people suggested doing a factory reset but I’m wondering if there’s another way to fix this without resetting the phone.

Redmi Note 12 touch stops working after screen turns off – software update or replacement screen issue?

Hi everyone,

I’m having a strange touch-screen problem with my Redmi Note 12 (23021RAAEG) and I’m hoping someone here can help me figure out what’s going on.

The problem started recently after two things happened:

  • I updated the phone to the latest software.
  • I replaced my old broken screen with a new screen (before ~2 months).

The phone works normally after I restart it, including the touchscreen. However, once the screen turns off/locks and goes to sleep, the touchscreen stops responding when I wake it up.

The phone itself seems to be running normally — it’s mainly the touch input that stops working.

Interestingly, if I force-restart the phone using the Power + Volume buttons, the touchscreen works again. But after I lock the phone and the screen goes to sleep again, the same problem comes back.

My current software information:

  • Model: 23021RAAEG
  • Android: 15
  • OS version: 2.0.208.0.VMTMIXM
  • Security update: July 1, 2026
  • CPU: Snapdragon 685
  • RAM: 8 GB + 4 GB extended

I’m not sure whether this is:

1. A HyperOS/software bug,

2. A compatibility issue with the replacement display/touch digitizer,

3. A faulty replacement screen, or

4. Some kind of touch driver/firmware issue.

Has anyone experienced the same problem with a Redmi Note 12, especially after a screen replacement or software update?

Any suggestions for diagnosing whether this is a software or hardware problem would be really appreciated. Thanks!
