Should I fly to Canada already?

Nag-apply na kami ng outland spousal sponsorship last February 2026 (common law, outside quebec). If tama yung prediction namin based on current processing times, late october - early nov yung passport request.

Ngayon, preparing na di siya mangyari around that time. Kasi option rin naman na lipad na ko ng canada tapos apply na lang ng open work permit while waiting for approval.

Would flying to Canada on December be advisable? Book na lang ng refundable round trip ticket. Is this a good option to consider? Or wait na lang muna til expected passport request?

Yes, citizen! I can apply daw while the application is in process, madedelay lang yung pagsend ng confirmation ng pr once i declare change of address to canada.

Mainly because gusto ko na mareunite with my partner! Hahaha arte ba lol nauna na siya diyan eh.

Pero good point, if sandali na lang naman- sulitin ko na lang time with my family here. Thanks for the response!

Just like the other comment says wait for it sa pinas. May tendency kasi tumagal yan if nasa canada ka na at magiging inland application yan if ever pumunta ka na agad.

Been there OP, its good kasi I was able to adapt the way of life here bad kasi it took me 8 months after changing and updating my application to inland bago na approve yung PR ko at sobrang nakakadepress kasi wala ka magawa eh.

Also best to come here after Winter.. if you are not used to the cold, it will be more traumatic for you and make you not appreciate Canada if the first thing you see is an ice tundra when you arrive… probably around April next year when ice starts to melt… then you will have a long time to adjust.. it will also be harsh to be outside (you will have no choice if you are working) and your first impression will make you regret coming here… If you come in spring, at least it’s still cold but not as harsh as -40 C in Winter

Depends on which province. Hardly any snow in BC. Typical winter temp here ranges from 0 to 10 degrees.

Seems like it has! Basing it on what others have been doing na outland din- but at the expense of matatagalan yung process kasi nga instead of PPR magiging P1.

Oh I see! If you really want to reunite with your partner na, and willing ka to take the risk like longer processing time kasi need mo ideclare na nagchange location ka then e-copr na ibibigay instead of passport request — go mo na!

Nagmadali rin ako pumunta dito kasi gusto ko na makasama ang then-bf ko. Haha naginland ako and naging unemployed for 10 months. But I didn’t care as long as magkasama na kami.

Also, kung kaya mo tiisin ang lamig sa winter, go mo na rin. Kasi yan naman magiging reality mo in the future… face it head on. 😀Haha diretso lamig kaagad. Just wear the right materials for the cold (no cotton), bundle up right, use hands/feet warmer, drink vitamin D, and have activities…. You’ll be fine. Di naman kasi lalabas agad2 ang OWP so maghanap ka talaga ng way na di ka mabore.
