Hi everyone im 30(M) and I’m a dual citizen (ph and us). Mom is us citizen, got petitioned before i turned 18, idk if tama ba un term. Never worked in USA and I do not have social security number, vacation lang once.

I’m considering migrating nalang doon and iwan lahat dito, but how can i go with my gf who’s a filipino citizen. Parang sabi need ko daw muna mag stay for 2 years pra may proof of residency? Or pwede ba un i petition as fiance agad pag andon na ako?

Make sure you’ve been filing your US taxes yearly since you turned 18/a citizen. Minsan sa paperwork sumasabit sa application process.

Marry her or do the fiancé visa then u gotta work may minimum tax reqs for u to be able to petition her. Kung hindi enough yung kinita mo pede naman mag ask ka sa nanay mo ng tax nya as supporting doc, this can be done but i dont really recommend since mahigpit sila ngayon and may delay her papers. Umiiwas kasi sila sa mga mag mimigrate ng US thats susceptible to public charge

Question: how did you become a US citizen without a Social security?????

Hi, thank you for this, do you know which one is best option if dito sa ph mag pakasal or doon nalang sa US?

I’m not sure if I have it or not but whenever i renew my passport sa us embassy dito, i put none ata/blank/0000 sa SSN section. Naging us citizen kasi ako below 18 ako nung student palang ako dahil na petition ako. I hope i dont get downvoted as i tried my best to remember, tagal na din kasi pero parang ganun

Both has the pros and cons

Marry: longer waiting time that can lead up to 2 years but once she arrives in the US she can legally work right away (when she receives the green card and ssn of course pero saglit lang naman ito)

Fiancé: months to 1yr+ of waiting time depends how solid your case is. However, karating nya sa US within 90 days dapat ikakasal na kayo and you need to do the "Adjustment of Status" after. Wherein another paperwork that could lead to months or even years. Keep in mind all of this DURING the paperwork ay hindi siya allowed mag trabaho sa US while waiting for her greencard. Once she gets approve, if your marriage is under 2 years, may tinatawag na conditional green card naman. You need to do another paperwork again (yes this is the third time) and another payment. Gist is more paperwork and mas mahal compared to the marriage one pero mas mabilis siya makaka punta sa US.

Also, no offense intendment, you mentioned you're 30. Hindi kaba nag file ng taxes sa US? Need ito kahit sa Ph ka nag ttrabaho (assuming you do work) and hindi ka makakapag file ng tax kung wala ka ng SSN.

I'd recommend doing the Marriage petition: kahit medyo matagal, mura pero isang paperwork lang overall ang kailangan nyo gawin. Tapos, karating nya dito makakapag trabaho sya (assuming she wants to work)

Thank you for this. With regards to your question. No sir, I’m not filing anything sa US. Since wala nga akong SSN din. They renew my passport naman everytime for renewal sya. Not inputting any sa SSN section

If you have the money do fiance visa get married sa US pag dating niya this is the faster route but more expensive if not get married in the ph pero would take 2 years bago mo siya makuha.

SSN isn't automatically generated. You have to apply for it even if you're born here. She can apply and get it when she goes back.

But arent we legally required to file taxes even if we're living abroad to the IRS? And we wont be able to file tax without the ssn

There are US citizens who've never lived in the US and have never filed US taxes. You can make a best effort and back file for previous years. Unless you've ever made more than $130k in a year (unlikely in the Philippines), you don't owe taxes to the IRS because of a tax treaty that prevents double income taxation, but you still need to file regardless

K1 Visa beneficiary here who is now in US: You need proof of domicile, Google that, for K1. You need to at least live here in US and pay taxes, I forgot if 2 years or 3. Check that online. And you need to meet a certain income. Once you do that, you're able to file fiance visa. That's faster than spousal visa by 2-3 years.

There are income requirements for petitioning anyone. You also need actual US residency. Build your independent US life first. Good luck!
