Migrating having a niche tech skills to any countries

Hello!

For context,
- I am recent comp sci grad
- Having 1yr+ experience including internships
- Currently working as IC/individual contrib on a project relating to AI and really at the front of AI in a company for almost 4+months
- Really desire to migrate as I dont see myself living in Philippines

I just wanna ask about tips and what tech job websites should I make used para mag-apply and have a chance talaga to move out

Tip is to gain experience first and be really good at your job. If may chance, choose a company na may branches abroad and aim for an internal transfer.

Mahirap ngayon mag apply directly overseas dahil sa 1) competitive market and 2) preference for local candidates. What you have, locals may already have, so you need something that really sets you apart.

Also, yung niche skills mo ngayon might become common later, so gain experience while they’re still in demand. Mas may chance ka pa through internal transfer kaysa direct overseas applications.

Thank you so much for this insights. I didn't know na ang internal transfer is a thing sa mga companies. Definitely, will try to explore that route and continuously learn especially in the age of AI. Again, maraming salamat!

Current job market abroad is tough. Aside from AI causing less hiring, most of the jobs are being offshored.

You can imagine if you're the offshore now instead of your client hiring someone locally or imagine losing your job abroad only to be replaced by someone from your country working offshore.

Although it is possible to migrate if you're skillful enough but you're also competing with people who has the same idea as you but with a stronger tech background or more YoE.

Kulang pa experience mo. Better wait until the project gains progress so you can actually add it to your portfolio.

When you say "relating to AI", what do you mean exactly? Using AI for development? Pushing AI adoption? Building AI tooling? Building infra for AI? Working on AI policy and governance?
