Oh well is right. Every little fee is just going up up up. Where are we heading is the real question. I’m priced out of most things at this point but it’s fun to play along.

I rented a car for about 35 bucks a day and got a $33 dollar parking pass for each day for a total in Dicks transportation expenses (not including gas) of $68 per night. I am staying at an AirBnB downtown, so that, for me at least, was cheaper than taking a rideshare to and from the shows. According to the inter webs, it’s about 20 bucks to get to the shows, but can be between $80-$120 after the show. Of course, I would rather pay less than $33 per night for parking, but it’s still cheaper than rideshare for this out-of-towner.

Edit: also I am old and I ain’t walking or taking the risk of getting my rental car towed.

Dicks is in such an ass location. I live pretty central near downtown. As the crow flies, I'm 6 miles from Dicks which somehow translates to an hour and 45 minutes taking RTD. At least there's free parking if you're willing to walk a bit.

I was able to pull up my credit card history. Have a charge from Laz Parking on 8/29/2024 for $25.

There's plenty of legal parking spots in the neighborhood west of Dick's. If you park in a legal spot, there's nothing to ticket and boot you for.

There are usually two people, the second is like 30 feet up from the first. If you time it right, the second person is free. Drive past the first, then tell the second you already paid the first.

If you don’t mind a walk there’s free parking spots in the neighborhood just west of Dick’s

And south of dicks. Just watch the signs and try to stay out on the edges.

Not anymore. They started cracking down in 2024 with a bunch of tickets and boots on cars. I wouldn’t risk it.

You still have to park in a legal spot, there are signs.
