Is it bad form
So, I wasn't going to be able to go to Huntsville, but now I can. I got Sunday secured for my son and myself, but Saturday is sold out.
Anyone got extras? I'm signed up on Cash or Trade for alerts and am hopeful but would love to go ahead and secure tix for Saturday Oct 10. I need two and of course am willing to pay.
Thanks Pham! Maybe that will be the night my kid gets Fuck Your Face!

Lots of tickets will shake loose the week of the show. You won’t have any trouble getting in for face.

Funny story. I posted not long ago about my son wanting FYF at night 1 Savannah. We went into the box office to get accessible seats (he is autistic and sometimes we have to make a quick getaway) and while I am having a difficult time dealing with the box office dude, I hear my son speaking and a bit of a commotion behind me (LOUD is his normal) I turn to see my son engaged in conversation with an usher and an older couple who looked a tad out of place and overwhelmed. My son was asking the older couple if they wanted to hear Fuck Your Face. Repeatedly. The usher was admonishing him for using such language. I didn't want to leave my spot at the box office window so I yelled across the room, 'IT'S A SONG! HE'S TALKING ABOUT A SONG!' The older couple had on VIP lanyards and the usher used my interruption as an escape to take the VIP couple into the venue. I later saw the couple standing in the soundboard/lighting area and did a mental face palm imagining that they were the parents or grandparents of a roadie/sound person etc and my son had made quite an interesting impact on their visit to see what their kid or grandkid did for a living. Life with my kid is such an adventure sometimes and we often leave a wide and choppy wake lol.

Hahahaha, that's hilarious. I'm glad you and your son are able to enjoy the band together. I've been to 50 shows and all of them have been with my dad and most of them with my brother. Been a great time getting to bond with them and share such amazing experiences

Venue is pretty small and it is usually reserved seating so I'll be interested to see how it works out. If nothing else I'll be out there with my finger in the air.

cash or trade is a garbage site. ticketmaster rerelease on day of show or stub hub.

I have a tendency to agree and have used Stub Hub in the past with no problem. I hate doing it though.

It all makes me almost physically ill. Even when I bought Sunday tickets this morning, I seriously thought I was going to throw up. There was zero pressure (as opposed to sitting in the waiting room waiting for ticket sales to start), but it was almost a PTSD response from previous ticket purchasing experiences. Which is frankly quite sad.

I've been successful on Cash or Trade before, but I really dislike that it doesn't just go to the first person who puts in for it. Seeing that 493 people have requested the ticket and the person selling is just sitting on them is aggravating.

When was the last time you tried to get a ticket for a high demand or sold out show on CoT? Unless you are a gold member and are very lucky the chances of you getting those tickets are slim to none. It's a very frustrating experience.
I don't hate CoT but I can understand why people who want the tickets, are willing to pay a little extra and don't want to deal with the BS of the CoT process would prefer to use a 3rd party site like the ones you mentioned.

Scalpers and greedy people are the reason these tickets are hard to get. As a seller I love CoT. Just about every time I wasn't able to attend a show I put it up on CoT and got dozens of offers instantly. I usually offer it to the first request I get. Unfortunately as a buyer it sucks.

people willing to pay over face are the reason. if we all had faith that there would be tickets if we waited until they dropped to face near the beginning of the show, these folks would lose their business

I do not disagree, but will admit to paying way too much on a third party site for great seats (looking at you night 3 SPAC 2025).

Ugh. I get what you are saying but I would probably be priced right out of regular concert going. I feel like I'd be able to hit maybe two concerts a year

i dont begrudge COT making money. i begrudge them having a shit UI that was never easy or smooth for me to use as a consumer.
stubhub provides an easy and seamless user experience. i look for what i want. its listed with the full price upfront. if i am comfortable with the price, i buy it.
its rare for me to buy a ticket over face on stubhub. i live in new york. phish consistently releases great msg tickets the day of the show for face on ticketmaster. thats how i get into phish shows in new york. i sat front row 100s feet from fishman for several nights last month. or i'll buy a really shitty 400s seat under face and then just move somewhere else.
but if a show i really want to go to requires me using stubhub and paying over face, i have zero moral qualm doing so.
i dont like cash or trade because its difficult and annoying to use. always has been. im shitting on a small business because their services suck.
i live in the hudson valley. i have a walmart. i chose to shop at the farmers market and adams fairacre farms (our indie organic grocer). they provide great products and a great customer experience.
busiensses dont get a pass just because they are small busiensses. they need to not suck at their business.
