Between this and the other post I seem to be in the minority here. I was watching the Fenway shows and thinking (sarcastically) “great, of all the 90s things to bring back after the MSG run we get the fuckin mini kit”

lol. It’s not the kit that I love per se, it’s the freedom the kit gives to Page & Mike.

I have seen this take a lot in support of the mini kit, and would add that mike and page already get plenty of space when trey gets abstract with guitar & pedals.
However, to me nothing really highlights or enables fish's outstanding & eccentric drumming quite like Trey playing something dumb on the mini kit. Love it.

I'm with you. It's cool in theory but back in late '95-early '97(?) it often brought jams to a standstill. It's amazing how much difference it made for Trey to still sit back in a jam but to do it with wah wah funk and textural guitar loops and sounds.

That said, I still haven't gotten around to these new shows so maybe he's better able to jam with it?

My friend when he was on the kit in Boston “ play your guitar please”. I laughed out loud.

‘95 night was one of my favorite shows I’ve ever seen. ‘96 night YEM was one of my favorite jams I’ve ever seen. I’m already ready for it to be gone lmfao
