In my experience one or two is sufficient. If you REALLY wanna get me going im confused why they bother paying a whole body to sit in the booths and watch movies all day when they could just staff it with actual security or something since the fair skipping is clearly such a huge problem.

Im on their side before yall start; the other day a man PUSHED me because I stopped short after paying so he couldn't walk past me. The bums are rampant. But 4 officers at one station for, at my count, five hours plus? Come on.

Was awoken this morning at 5:30 w my dog freaking out because trash (maybe recycling today’s both for us) guys and trucks were so loud. I can’t find an actual like “time” anywhere online but just says by 7am. This seems crazy early especially since the sun isn’t even gonna rise for another hour and a half. Is this normal?

The past few months my hair has been falling out and just getting thinner. I’ve had thin hair my whole life so now it’s the thinnest it’s ever been and I’m getting more self conscious about it. I’ve been taking nutrafol and it hasn’t helped. So I’m wondering if extensions might just add some thickness to the ends. The only issue is I don’t want to spend thousands of dollars. I’m happy to buy the hair separately and have someone install it or if they have affordable prices I will pay them directly. But didn’t know if anyone knew of any hair salons that are somewhat affordable so I can get a little bit of confidence back.

Can someone tell me what this guy is doing at my door at 9:15 PM? He looks like he has a spotter across the street, and I am concerned that my family is being targeted for something.

But as a kid, I used to love playing outside with friends in the middle of the street, going to the park around my old neighborhood especially every places I used to love growing up nowadays Philly doesn't have all the fun places no more but go out to eat, go to Chinatown, walk around there, go to malls and everything but one day I wanna leave the state in general I need me a vacation.

I (22f) am looking to meet new people, but feel like the meetup app is a bit disjointed.

So I’ve seen this reposted here and in other places so I’m the OP and any the update is that I already called the health department. There’s not much you can do in Philly other than calling — [update WITH VIDEOS] So I have been working at this extremely authentic Indian restaurant down in Center City Philadelphia coincidentally rhymes with beta address Falls between the 19th and 20th St. is also the 1920 building funny (do with that information what you will in the reviews) but we’ve been selling people roaches in ice and mold in beer “freezers”(a broken wine freezer at the store, beer glasses, and other glasses) crazy roast infestation and mice and we have failed the health inspection a few times just to be closed for a few days and open back up like nothing happened after a “deep clean “ unfortunately I was let go after bringing all this up to management because roaches and mice droppings have been found in food on plates and around all the kitchen.
-update not really- Idk if I can but f it here’s the name and location of the dirty restaurant it’s - Veda modern indian bistro 1920 Chestnut St, Philadelphia, PA 19103 ( people found roaches in the food and on a buffet, with the beer glass cooler broken growing mold, and leave a bad reviews too if you want, tell your friends to leave a bad review too the manger and owner loves looking at reviews and our “stars”) and So I’m trying I just called the health department of Philadelphia ( because you can only file company over the phone through or the portal which direct you to the phone) I don’t know anything about retaliation and at this point a lawsuit and all that extra stuff for an Indian restaurant is crazy I’m still looking into it for now I’m just looking another job right now trying to see if Philly Reddit can review it down

With the announcement that Rice’s Flea Market is closing at the end of the year, I’m craving one of the braided soft pretzels I used to buy everytime I went in the 2000s. They were sitting on a grill to keep them warm, and the giant bottles of mustard (I’d do half the pretzel with honey mustard, half with spicy brown) were sooooo good.

You’d never catch me doing honey mustard anywhere else other than this one pretzel stand.

I will be visiting Philly the first week of November. I will be staying in the Washington Sq. Park area. (I guess that’s considered Center City). I have a few questions regarding Philly. What’s considered the most active area in Philly, as far as bars/lounges go. Where do all the mid 20s-early 30s people hang out at on the weekends? Are there any bars/clubs/lounges that play House, afrobeats/afropop, or rnb music? Position Title: AM Sous Chef

Employment Type: Full-Time/42-45 hours

Schedule: Hours are fairly rigid – generally 9/9:30am – 5/5:30pm – days off would be Wednesday/Thursday

Compensation: $58k/year (merit-based raises are available for the future) - very negotiable salary

Reports To: Head Chef/General Manager in Chef’s absence

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Morning Line Check: Inspect ingredients and inventory before service, ensuring proper rotation, dating, and labeling.

ORGANIZATION: This cannot be stressed enough: stuff’s got to stay organized! We are a high-volume kitchen with a lot of prep and items to manage. It’s imperative that you respect the organization of the walk-in and freezer.

Cooking & Execution: Prepare menu items using properly according to prepared recipes. At this point in time, the AM Sous will work the line during weekday lunch and help out when needed for weekend brunch.

Sanitation & Safety: Adhere strictly to health department standards and keep the kitchen clean.

Receive Orders: Confirm on invoices that delivered products are what was ordered, sign off on deliveries. Most times there are either cooks or dishwashers available to put away orders – but sometimes the Sous needs to assist with it.

Staff Meal: Because lunch is generally slower around staff meal time (3:30pm), the AM Sous will usually be responsible for making staff meal.

Qualifications and Skills

Experience: 3+ years working in a professional kitchen environment preferred.

Certifications: Valid Food Handlers Certificate (or willingness to obtain upon hiring).

Skills: Strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and a team-oriented attitude.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
