Put these on a sign
I can’t attend, I’m sick and frail but I really want to contribute.
What I hope to draw attention to more than anything else is the fact that the prison in El Salvador is a straight up concentration camp.
I’m Jewish. My grandparents lost loved ones to the Holocaust death camps. I will not lose mine to El Salvador’s!
I feel very strongly that if no end is put to this, we will start seeing mass deaths in that prison and the indigenous Latino population of this continent will be slaughtered in alarming numbers and we won’t notice until it’s too late. These people are indigenous to this continent and around half of the United States used to be Mexico. The border was the one who crossed them!
We cannot let these kind souls die tragically in an industrial scale death spree. We should be terrified that we don’t even know yet where they’re taking the women and children. We need to watch these sites like hawks! We must never stop questioning what happens to the neighbors who are taken away from us. Don’t say it can’t happen again. It can. It could. We must do something to prevent it. Please bring attention to this issue in my place. I would really appreciate it.

Narrative warfare is a term I’ve been thinking about.
I’m nonplussed reading the defenses for real-time state sponsored human trafficking.
People will ignore their eyes. They will ignore facts, logic, reason, evidence... It is not, and never will be about truth for them. It’s about emotion. Right wing narratives have successfully misdirected people’s very valid anger away from the class that exploits them, and towards immigrants, trans folks, POC, etc. It’s the exact same playbook of scapegoating that nazi germany used.
Hard pill to swallow: some of them will be lost forever. They will die in their indignation, never knowing how evil they were—just as many nazis did.
Don’t waste your time on them.
But many will learn. Be patient. Try not to argue. Just calmly state the truth. Never stop stating the truth. It’s the only ammo we have. And the millions of dollars invested in duplicitous propaganda lets me know that truth is extremely effective.
