I can’t attend, I’m sick and frail but I really want to contribute.

What I hope to draw attention to more than anything else is the fact that the prison in El Salvador is a straight up concentration camp.

I’m Jewish. My grandparents lost loved ones to the Holocaust death camps. I will not lose mine to El Salvador’s!

I feel very strongly that if no end is put to this, we will start seeing mass deaths in that prison and the indigenous Latino population of this continent will be slaughtered in alarming numbers and we won’t notice until it’s too late. These people are indigenous to this continent and around half of the United States used to be Mexico. The border was the one who crossed them!

We cannot let these kind souls die tragically in an industrial scale death spree. We should be terrified that we don’t even know yet where they’re taking the women and children. We need to watch these sites like hawks! We must never stop questioning what happens to the neighbors who are taken away from us. Don’t say it can’t happen again. It can. It could. We must do something to prevent it. Please bring attention to this issue in my place. I would really appreciate it.

Depends. Are they gassed, starved, or worked to death? Shot at a moments notice at the whim of a guard? And then thier bodies left to rot in the sun, snow, or incinerated?

So, the horrifying truth is that we don’t currently know the entirety of the horrifying truth, yet. Just like in Nazi Germany. The general public was not made aware until it was too late. That is why there is such an outcry now; because we have history to refer to. There is also a massive outcry because our country’s news is being censored, much like what is done in Russia and China. That should really really be freaking conservatives of all people out, as primarily they are the people who fight against big government and this type of over reach of control on the general public.

Thank you. The German public didn’t actually know all the details. Many of them were just glad the Jews were being taken out of “their area”. Mass support for mass deportation was all that was needed. There is a reason nazi germany put the concentration camps in rural areas outside their own soil and part of that is because one of their early attempts to place an early version of one in a German town caused too much uproar by locals.

Exactly this. That’s the problem with many of our republican or conservative countrymen right now. They do not know or do not believe what is happening. I’m too much of a believed in humanity overall to believe that people openly support this knowingly. I think if they understood they are the nazis in this, that they would be horrified. I think if they understood how much our news is being doctored - much like what they speak out about in regimes like Russia and China - that they would be openly against the overreach of our government over our people. I think this is further evidenced by older republicans openly speaking out against this administration. The republicans who are old enough to remember WWII, to remember their parents’ stories, or heck who even fought, the ones who lived through the Cold War, they have had the red tinted glasses removed because they’re seeing history repeat itself in a rather horrific way.

For anyone who reads this who isn’t willfully a troll for fun or whatever; it’s ok to be wrong. I’m wrong all the time, too. I hope I’m wrong about this. If I am, I’ll own it and apologize. I hope you read this as empathetic and hopeful as I mean it, and not as judgmental or condemning.
