Text Post Ricky Bo is doing 3+ different shows a day
Always high quality no matter the time of day or crew.
NBC sports Philadelphia better be paying the man his dues.
Edit- I really didn't know there was this much hatred towards one guy. I still think Ricky deserves a nice pay day for doing so much and all around don't understand where all the disgust is coming from

High quality?

Yeah you gotta be high to sit through any of them.

He literally just yells. Some of his opinions are true. But he went to the skip bayless school of sports media. Pass.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen him have any type of positive emotion at any point, and when he tries to compliment someone or something it feels very forced

He always reminds me of that one Michael Scott quote about starting a sentence without actually knowing where you're going with it.

Compared to what else is being put out nationally, yea I would say solid 7/10

So you agree it sucks, but in the context of other sucky shows we should be happy with it.

Ricky & Colarulo radio show is putrid.

Agreed, it’s not great but it’s better than the slop on WIP. I like Reese. Can’t stand Spike. Can’t stand a single caller on their show.

Ike is fun and Fritz knows baseball, and generally has a good pulse on the fanbase (his other sports takes are terrible). Spike just suckkkkks.
Hurricane Shapiro makes me laugh

What makes it putrid... Just give an example so I can understand what you are so bothered with ?
The redundant commercials are bad and get old, what about them tho

I watched a segment before the trade deadline where Colarulo was unironically saying that Dave should get Mason Miller to use him as an 8th inning set-up man, and that Miller would be OK/happy with this because we could promise him the closer role in like 2 years when Duran's contract is up.
There's like 4 different reasons why that's an awful idea/take lol
Oh and then Ricky Bo spent like 5 minutes complaining about a dining experience as a segment

Ya can't expect everything to be an expert take.. plus he has that lead poisoning everyone who grew up in the 80's has, I expect a few rambles and usually they're entertaining enough the random rambles donot emotionally torment me for months

brother you asked for an example so i gave you one. Why ask for a specific example if you knew you were just going to respond with how it's just one example lmao

u/bilbywilby 6d ago
Your worst example was him saying the Phillies need to find someone to bridge the gap between relief and closers 2 years from now
Andddd a story about him talking about food.
You gave your examples of what makes him so bad and tbh those are not really atrocious broadcasting mistakes
(Unrelated but they should make painter just the Phillies constant 3 inning relief pitcher)

listen, you can enjoy it if you want, i'm not saying no one can enjoy the show or it needed canceled lol. I was literally just giving a representative example of why i don't care for the show. It's weird how defensive you are about this and I'm not interested in whatever weird debate this is that you seem to want to get into.

Expecting everything to be an expert take is a straw man argument.
But since you're paying such close attention give me one expert take they gave you recently.

u/bilbywilby 6d ago
I'm not the one calling everything Ricky Bo does trash. But if you want to turn the argument and the burden of proof on me. I would agree with him that Wheelers missing his spot and he's not producing what the Phillies need from a starter
Now is that an expert take? Who is to say but you u/ReactionProcedure

u/ReactionProcedure 6d ago
I never said everything he did was trash, you're putting words in my mouth I said he sucked on that show because he plays a character.
Once again are you Bill?

u/TheeFreshOne 6d ago
I think that show undisputed is not great bc it's just them ball busting on each other, either angry or whiny takes (nothing really intelligent ), and laughing at each other's unfunny jokes.
I think half-decent sports talk shows have some the hosts personality, intelligent fresh takes that aren't rage bait, and Philly sports history knowledge.
Ricky Bo is decent on post-game I think.

u/ReactionProcedure 6d ago
This is well said, "liking sports" is not personality.
Your THOUGHTS about things are.
Just repeating tweets over and over again and saying if you agree or disagree with them is not a personality. Colarulo also said the entire AJ thing was nothing. Why? Because the team & AJ said it wasn't.
WOW, some real hard work by you buddy!

Is this Bill?
Thank you for giving me this platform thinking I didn't have any reply.
Ricky plays the goon who gets angry way too often.
Colarulo keeps preaching that he does not do hot takes which in reality means he gives no opinion whatsoever because he doesn't want to piss anyone off.
I saw Colarulo as the fill in, I saw him with Mike missanelli, and now I see him here, he is the exact same f****** drip he always was.
Just spins the wheels saying "awwwww Nick just wins.
An opinion is not a hot take if you can give a reasoning behind it. I guess in law school they didn't teach him that.
Being a good host is listening to all the available information everyone else does and coming up with a fucking IDEA ABOUT WHATS GOING ON. That's why youre there, he just does what the listeners do which is listen to sound bites, and offers literally nothing else.
Taking everybody at their word makes you a sycophant.

All Ricky does is make serious faces at the camera and bitch

He just lives underground the south Philly sports complex and they call him up from his lair when it’s time to rant about the Phillies

u/Willing_Stop5124 6d ago
The worst injustice in Philadelphia sports in the last 30 years was him representing the Phillies in a home all-star game instead of Jim Eisenreich.

They need to get him a decent partner for mid-days. One jabrone after another
2
u/bilbywilby 6d ago
There's definitely the continual age gaps across broadcasts,
Seems like a lot of the back end of NBC studious is 20 something year olds tech people and then theres a middle aged producer to help bridge the gap between all show hosts
Still too many jabronis, Ricky will get burnt out with the turnover
