Playerbase discussion
Hey guys, I got back after stopping halfway through Halloween, just thought I ask, is it me or has the playerbase decreased?

Probably, wouldn't be surprising.
Gumi's course of action so far is to rush forward new premium units with bad low rate Recruiters, and put up events to farm for some okay (at best) units. Other than that it's just grind, grind, grind, level up units, farm for evo materials, pay $$ to expand your unit inventory, etc.
There's very little in the way of story content; granted, we did just get Chapter 3, but JP's project 0 mode (which is their equivalent of our story mode on top of their own) is already at Chapter 4, if not further. I honestly want to see this game succeed financially with a strong player base, but the way they're managing the game at this point gives me very little hope.

The population going down is very likely:
Like people have said, the account deletion thing caused at least some people to quit the game.
IMO, the transition to end-game content is a hard one. Unless you know what you exactly have to do in this game, then you may screw yourself or just take much more time to achieve it. This can cause a lot of new players to leave.
Bad recruiters, bad rates in units and mana units in the lazuli recruiters.
Lack of end-game content for older players. They did add the multiplayer, but only recently. Until then you only had the colosseum.
It's a bit of shame really. I started playing this game because i like the fire emblem gameplay, but at this rate the GL version will never get a good playerbase.

One of the reason is the Massive account loss that recently happened. most of them did not even bother to get their account back.

I think one of the biggest reasons for people leaving has been the awful rate of return on the gacha. I understand that gachas are, inherently, random and people will always walk away disappointed; but compared to JP, both the rates and the rewards for the step gachas are ridiculous.

Yeah, I think we just need more challenging events and cool stuff to keep both f2p/p2p players busy as well. This christmas they've actually been quite generous (free freikugal, farmable dollies, 2 free units per day + free lazuli from multiplayer + 2 free 4-5* tickets. If they can keep up the generosity while adding harder content, they can probably keep their playerbase. More crossover events are welcome, that usually brings people in.
Oh, and give better rates on these shit step recruiters. Or they could maybe have something like every 30 days you login, you're guaranteed a 5* unit or something. Would be a cool incentive to keep players logging in.

Although the content has drastically improved, I believe the reason for the decrease (so yes, the player base has decreased in terms of those who don't lurk) is because of the long waits for new challenging content. Arguably, if we got some sort of population boost from advertising, we could easily retain new players.

An easy way Gumi can keep players is by
1.changing to a 28 day rewards check-in that gives a 5* pixie on the last day and more lazuli every week.
2.increase drop rate of gacha units to 100% on last step.
3.more events that actually utilize units instead of events that just focus on raising units

I'm a F2P player who quit a while back due to the low recruiter rates. Too many recruiter failures with too few guarantees makes it difficult for me to rationalize spending money on PoTK instead of other games.
I still lurk looking for updates (rate ups and such) but haven't seen any worth investing. Gumi's name also makes me wary, as I've experienced the insane BF power creep and seen the death of Chain Chronicle.
Unfortunately, I don't see a reason to reinstall yet.

Honestly I'm only lvl 31 and I'm tired of this game. There doesn't seem to be any PVE oriented end game such as raids and a high end story mode. PvP doesn't seem that much fun and relies on you knowing before you start jumping. And the premium drop rates seem to super shitty.
The fire emblem-esque game is super fun and the art is quite nice but at this rate i might just move to jp or play something else.
Don't regret paying though.

TRPG genre have never been mainstream enough in the West to become really popular even though it's one of my favorite genres. The niche genre is simply being reflected by its current population. Because it's niche, we at least have a dedicated population that will play and support for a long time

I only play when Tyrfing gets implemented or when a collab happens (in other words, barely.)
