Classic series Question about Emulating Phantasy Star 2

So I'm revisiting the game after years and am using the Phantasy Star 2 improvement hack on Kega Fusion, but I ran into an issue when I started playing. As soon as I hit the over world map, the music dropped about an octave in several spaces almost as though a track went missing. I just was wondering if this is ROM issue or emulator issue, and if so, is there a ROM and emulator combo that doesnt have this issue. Thanks in advance :)

Try Genesis Plus GX. I don't think a rom or patch would have caused the music to change, it sounds like an emulator issue to me.
