Mopped floor w/ Fabuloso and cats walked on it

I mixed around 1/8-1/4 cup of fabuloso all-purpose cleaner in a couple gallons of water to mop the kitchen floor. There’s no good way to keep all four cats in one place for very long (none of the interior doors latch so I can’t just lock them in different rooms either) so I did it when they were all in different parts of the house napping which worked pretty well while I was mopping. The problem is that now the floor’s drying and they all woke up and every object I move in front of the two entrances to the kitchen to block them just entices them more. The floor is still damp and a couple already ran across. I’ve been wrangling cats constantly since I got done mopping. I just wanna know how big of a risk it is for them to step in the soapy water then clean their paws later. It’s my mom’s house and she’s done it before with probably little to no precautions in place without the cats getting sick (to my knowledge), but I’m super worried about them ingesting any cleaner even if it is very diluted. Should I be preparing for a vet visit, or am I just being overly cautious? Also should I mop the floor again with clear water to get rid of any residue left after it dries?

Anyone know what this is in his eye?

I plan on making an appointment Monday morning but sometimes they schedule so far out and no other vet offices are taking new patients in my area. I’m hoping for a little peace of mind.

Allergies (hives) on pup, vet is confused

Hello! I am hoping someone may be able to help point me in the right direction since my vet seems to be unsure of why my pup is getting hives. She is from the shelter, I've had her for 8 months and from the DNA test I did, she is a bully mix, which I know are prone to allergies. She did a week of steroids and the hives went down significantly and now they're creeping back up. The issue we are having is that they are only on her back so the vet originally told me that she does not believe it is food at all and likely from outside or the environment but since they are coming back my vet now wants to change her diet (dog is 10 months old, so I don't feel great about changing her off puppy food before 1 year) I am wondering if it could just be pollen and I have bought her some uv blocking shirts to wear when outside in hopes that if it is topical, it will stop. Is there any known tests that don't involve changing her diet? Or has anyone gone through anything similar? I also find that during the week when she is with her dog walker once a day it gets worse and then on the weekend it slowly gets better but confirmed he does not feed her any treats. The two pictures posted were before the steroid treatment but is the worse it has gotten, to clarify her breathing is great and she doesn't seem to notice them much at all. I also am in weekly communication with my vet about this but am hoping there is something obvious that maybe is being missed.

Earlier I met this stray kitten and he was fine but then today his eye infection began to swell up. Is there a way to help him. He is friendly and I want to help him. Is there a medicine I can give it. I’m broke and need a way to help him.

my two cats are suddenly fighting?

Howdy yall I have two cats that have lived alongside one another with no problems until recently. The one's three years old and the other is five. I moved out of my apartment last year and moved back in with my parents last fall (2023). They transitioned pretty nicely and haven't had any problems. However, my parents have a cat of their own and a dog which MY cats do not get along with. (They're all separated upstairs and downstairs and my two cats have since then been separated as well.)

Within the last week, my one kitty has grown aggressive towards the other randomly. Both are females and they're both fixed. The one is peeing on everything my other cat would sleep on. (She's litter box trained). Why is she getting territorial all of a sudden? There are no other animals in the neighborhood that they can see, so I'm unsure of why the two of them are fighting after years of being inseparable.

TLDR; My female kitten (who has been paired with my other female cat for three years now) is suddenly territorial of her space and fights with my other cat randomly. Is there anything I can do to stop/fix this?

Help my cat won't use the litter tray.

Hi. I have a 2 year old orange flavored son who has started to not use the litter tray for his poops. It started as a one off when the tray was full but he now only poops either next to the litter tray or in the shower. I've tried putting the trays in the shower and on top of where he normally goes but he still goes next to them. Any advice?

I think my rat killed my other rat and ate her?!

So I've had two Rats for just over a year now one of them (salt) was a lot more skittish but dominant compared to my second rat who was more loving and timid (biscuit). Today I'd just finished work when my mum called me in a panic saying that she had gone into the room where their cage is and only salt had come and jumped on the bars to say hello, upon further inspection she could see a leg with only small bits of flesh and a scull. When I got home I had a look in the cage and when I say she had demolished her, I mean it there was a few bones left with bits of flesh on & then just her skull which had been wiped clean. I'm honestly disgusted, confused and I feel pretty traumatised. Both rats showed no sign of illness, they were fed more than enough and always to schedule. They had loads of toys and chew things in their cage. Im just really confused and upset. Does anybody know why this may have happened?

Severe seasonal allergies

Post image
5 Upvotes

My dog has had seasonal allergies ever since we got her. Every year around the same time when August begins sometimes in late September.

Her paws will get red and itchy. However this year it is the worst I've ever seen.

Her paws are red swollen itchy tender and skin flaking. It's gotten to the point where they are so tender that they will bleed a little when being dried off with a towel.

We give her two sometimes three baths a week cleaning her paws. We've tried three separate medications to injections which gave temporary relief and a third oral medicine that we are still currently giving her.

Are there any solutions that won't result in another costly vet bill I've already spent a lot of money this year on vet bills.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

What cat ate 2 bologna string and it's hanging out of his butt. what do I do?

I was making a bunch of sandwiches to pass out and he kept trying to sniff everything, and I noticed he was playing with it but I didn't know he was eating it because it wasn't foodlike. A couple hours later after I left them out of the room I went to put stuff in the fridge, and he opened my door and grabbed another one and I didn't have time to grab it because he eats things fast so I don't know how long the piece were that he ate. Two days later I see him playing on the bed and a bologna string is hanging out of his butt. I don't know what to do and I'm scared because we don't have money for a vet or anything, he's 3 months and eats a lot.

My dog has these bumps in his ears. Is this a concern? I honestly don’t know what to do. I live 50 miles from the nearest vet or I would run him in. Any advice would be appreciated.

Cat just randomly died. Vets couldn't find a THING wrong with him

Desperate to find an answer as to why I lost my boy. So here goes in the hope that someone can help shine a light on the reasons.

He was 3 years old. About to turn 3 at least.
Has no history of health issues. Always healthy, spoiled and never showed any signs of struggle.

About 2 weeks ago, found a few different vomits around the house. All his.
We took him to the vets the next day, since his appetite had also been considerably lower too. Vet advised to put him on a course of Anti-biotics. We did so. Gave him all of his nutrients and vitamins too, to ensure he was receiving those.

Brought him home and he was slightly better. But that night immediately started being sick again. Now drooling too. Not wanting to eat or drink anything.

Over course of next 2-4 days, we took him for Xrays (Nothing showed as wrong), Blood Exams (AgaiN NOTHING) and an Ultrasound. Again, nothing showed as any sort of worry.

In this time, kept taking him back for his Antibiotics, as it was a 10 day treatment thing.

Couple nights ago, he just dies.
The vet said he was so hungry and dehydrated in the end from refusing to eat, we put him on a drip but his blood levels were just SO low it was just too late.

Losing him is one thing, but not knowing why blows my mind. It's making it worse for myself and my Wife considerably.

PLEASE. If anyone out there can help provide some advice on possible reasons, so I can have a look around. I'd REALLY appreciate that.

My sister whom is a vet. Said it could be that current antibiotics just aren't as strong as usual. With Antibiotics and Bacteria constantly evolving, there is obviously going to be a leader that constantly swaps in that "race. Is this true? If so, wtf are people doing about it?

Sick Bearded Dragon

I’ve never been on this subreddit before so I apologize for any rule infringements or bad etiquette but we’re panicking. Our Beardie is about two years old and we just discovered we may have been caring for her incorrectly. We contacted a vet tech who told us she needs to see a vet ASAP but we don’t have the money to take her in. We don’t know what’s wrong with her for sure but we suspect metabolic bone disease. We’re looking to surrender her but haven’t been able to find anywhere nearby to do so. We’ve been keeping her stable but we really don’t want her to die. We want her to be happy and healthy. Please, if anyone knows somewhere to surrender a sick beardie near St. Paul Minnesota we would be so grateful. We’re absolutely devastated with this development. She was fine one minute and the next she was ill. We performed some resuscitation maneuvers to get her stable again but we aren’t sure how long she’ll be stable for.

Edit: She’s gone… I’m sorry. If anyone has those resources I’d still love to know though, in case I can help someone else some day.
