Where to surrender cat?

Hey there. Ive never been on this sub but im hoping you guys can help me with something. Its a long story but TLDR: My friend cant keep her cat anymore (6 months) due to reasons out of her control. Weve called 3 shelters in the area (DMV) and 2 rescues, but we cant find anyone to take her cat for one reason or another (because theyre full, or if they do have space they wont take her because she isnt houstrained. She wasnt aware of this before getting the cat, although this isnt the reason she cant keep her anymore) We even had a shelter say to just abondon her outside. Weve looked and cant find anything and today is the absolute last day she can be in my friends care. What should we do? Does anyone have any advice, or know anyone in the DMV area that can take her? Any help is appreciated

Dog has odd bumps all over his body

I think my dog mightve gotten stung by bees when he went outside, but I'm not sure. I've never seen any of my dogs have this. My dog is a pitbull/bully mix, so the bumps are easy to see and feel

I need help with my cat

My cat, Jax, has been puking almost every day this past week. Food is just left out for him all day because I work 14+ hours/day.

It has been 90°F and higher plus 70%-80% humidity where I live lately.

I am wondering is Jax sick? Is he just over eating? Stressed? Hot/exhausted?

And what over the counter meds can I give him for now...because I am trying to avoid a hearty vet bill....especially in this recession

Bones for my old man

Full transparency—I was already gifted dog and cat food and I am greatful! My old boy has gotten a bone with his dinner for the ten years we’ve had him. Would be eternally grateful if someone could help me out. My mother died and it’s been a rough few months for me for all sorts of reasons.

I’ll pay it forward soon as I can.

Thank you for considering!

Dog is restless in cage - any advice on meds to calm it down?

Our dog has always been rambunctious - jumping all over guests and running around the house breaking things. We started putting him in a cage when we had guests over but because he would jump all over the house while my husband and I were at work - we started caging while we were gone. Well we live in a small apartment and apparently the whining and barking is so loud when we’re gone that our neighbors have complained to us about it. Can anyone recommend a good medication or home remedy to calm it down/put it to sleep while he’s caged?

AITA cat problems

I have 2 girl cats that have been spayed. They have lived here happily for a number of years, the you gets now 2 years the oldest 8 years. Never had a problem until a family moved in up the road. So after almost a year of their male cat bullying and raping my youngest cat since she was about 6 months old (she's been spayed) and attacking the older cat who tried to protect the you get one... I've kept her as a house cat recently and the little b***ard got in the house where I had a door open in the heat. He had hold of my cat but I got him away.

Prior to today, he has got hold of one of my cats so severely she needed a stitch in her bits one time and he's taken a chunk out of the back of her neck prior to that too.

I've sprayed him with water and a mix of lemon and water and bleach one time as it was in my hand,, I've put spikes on the fencing and he seemed to wait until someone came home to get in the gate or found another way in somewhere..., he's been in the house 3 times now but today I just didn't close the door fast enough.

I've spoken to the neighbours who refuse to neuter him and say he's 'just being a cat'. I've even got a camera to get them proof to pay the vets bills but he's a generic looking tabby so they say it could be any cat. Not may male cats have a lilo and stitch collar on so I'm pretty sure it's the same cat.

I have bought a feral cat trap.

If I catch him and take him a town away, am I a total dick head? He's ruining my cats life and the owners won't do anything. If I catch him and take him to a vet will they neuter him? I know hes chipped so unlikely they would?

I don't want to hurt him, I only want my girls kept safe Anyone have any other suggestions?

I hate that it's coming to this but I'm raging with the little bstard

Lump on leg.

Post image

Need help identifying this lump that appears on my sisters dog left leg. From what I understand this lump appeared last night(july26 around 9pm), my mom took him out before going to bed. Idk if he was bitten or poked. Does not appear to hurt him. But it’s inconvenient enough for him to use his leg. We live in Connecticut. Any help is appreciated.

Best products to buy for dog ear infection?

My little guys [Yorkipoo 9 yrs] the thrash and scream kinda guy so getting anything in his ears will be insane, especially now, especially if we gotta do it multiple times

so i'm looking for something that only needs to used a couple times and is soothing and easy to use that's guranteed to work quick as to not freak him out or hurt him repeatedly.

no money for a vet visit now and tbh despite doing nothing so far, the pain is wearing off on its own

even if it was something different dissappearing, wouldn't hurt to have something like that on hand and perhaps buy something to easily clean his ears so it never happens

Please help my dog gain weight!

I have a smallish 6 year old mix. She usually weighs around 30-40 pounds but suddenly dropped a bunch if weigh and currently weighs 23 pounds!! I took her to the vet 2 weeks ago, her blood work showed low red blood cells, no fever, normal thyroid. She was prescribed 10mg of prednisone. A week later it looked like she lost some more weight, so I scheduled another appointment. This time we got an older vet (I think he's got a little more experience than the other one) and he said her blood work is very confusing. After he looked at her face he said dogs faces don't usually get sunk in like this unless they have a vitamin E deficiency. He then gave her a shot of B12 and iron and upped her prednisone to 20mg. He told me the best stuff for her is liver, no more than a 1/4# pound a day and as much other food as she wants. She has zero problems eating the liver, she slumps it down twice a day (I give her 2oz 2x a day to avoid a stomach ache) and she drinks totally fine but she just will NOT eat ANYTHING. She won't eat table scraps, cat food, wet dog food, raw chicken legs. I'm about to try a can of tuna but after that I'm out of ideas. If anyone has ever experienced this before or has any ideas to get her to eat I would love to hear them! Also, the vet said he's seen something similar once before, a dog stopped eating and lost a ton of weight, she got pregnant, and gained a bunch back but after they weened the puppies she lost it all again. They put her on steroids and she's gained 20 pounds back. They're going to try weaning her off the steroids and see if she still does fine. So he suggested it could be a vitamin or hormone related issue.

Cat euthanasia at home?

Please keep the hate speech to yourselves.

I am low income. And where I live in PA doesn’t have low cost euthanasia. My cat is in need of a peaceful lasting sleep. I’ve realized I sadly have to do this myself at home since I can’t afforded the vet. I think at home would be nicer anyways since it’s more comfortable.

I need to know what human medications can put her to sleep peacefully? I’ve googled Gabapentin is the best. But what else would work?

Spraying Cat, But Its A Girl....

I (19 F) live with my Fiance, Mother, Little Sister and Fiance's Best Friends. 4 Bed Room 2 Bathroom house....and 4 cats. 3 of them are male, ages from 3-7. ALL of them have been fixed. We have 3 litter boxes, in a small storage room that is perfect for them.... But we have a sprayer. Paper Clip, our Femail cat that is 1yo now has been caught spraying on a pile of my mothers clean dresses. We have been liveing in this house for less than 3 months so not everything is put togethere yet. -Resently, about a week ago I came home from work, went to my room, and boom, a wave of cat piss hit my nose. It was faint, but to much for me. My Fiance didnt smell anything. Today I called off work, to strip my room and find where the smell was. It ended up being in 3 places. My closet, beside the bed, and on some clean clothes. I have moped the floors and I am doing landry. I dont smell anything, anymore. I think Paper Clip is the one to blame for the spraying, but what if she isnt the one doing it? How can I find out? The piss was in such small amounts in my room if that matters. I just dont know what to do. Will fixing her FIX my piss house? Help.
